    VirtEuphonity - Jan De Maeseneer - 11'30'' - BVT020 EUPHONIUM SOLO (soloist grade 6) VirtEuphonity is a virtuoso and funky solo work for euphonium and band (or piano & drums). The work is written for Kevin Van Giel (euphonium at the Belgian Royal Air Force Band) and consists of three parts. The first is an atmospheric opener that taps the technical skills of the euphonium player with his many notes, double tones and jumps over the registers. The second part is a ballad and the third part you get a funky solo with Oriental influences to end again with the opening theme.

After the success of Contest Music in 1982, this re-casting as Partita wasprepared for Howard Snell and the Desford Colliery Band. The short scherzo was replaced by themodern orchestral movement.
