The title of this piece reflects its upbeat, forward-driven character. It starts out with a soul groove, carrying a prominent theme which invites players and listeners to dance. The slower middle section features a blues with optional solo parts. After the return of the soul beat, the piece concludes with a striking reaffirmation of the initial theme. On a Roll may be performed as an effective opener or as an upbeat rhythm item during a concert or contest. On a Roll was commissioned by the Zurcher Blasmusikverband for the Zurcher Kantonalmusikfest 2024 in Urdorf/Schlieren, Switzerland.

He/she is soloist and is allowed to really beat the drum hard without the conductor putting a stop to it, but beware: a new skin is rather expensive. 'Big Fun on the Bass Drum' is not only about hitting as hard as you can, though. A lot of attention is paid to playing the bass drum very softly. And what is more, the composer has found room to offer the soloist a real cadenza - at this point in the composition he/she can either play the partprescribed or give the audience an improvisation of his/her own.

In the first arrangement of its kind for brass band, this new 'Highlights from Chicago' has been made especially for the Leyland Band to feature on their new upcoming CD. Expertly arranged by Iain McKnight, the work features, 'The Overture', 'And All That Jazz', 'Nowadays' and 'Hot Honey Rag'. Composed by Paul Raphael, Explorers on the Moon, the sequel to his 2017 work Destination Moon, was composed in 2019 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1969 Moon Landings. It is inspired by the Belgian author Herge and his most famous creation, Tintin. The music uses Herge's story from 1950 almost twenty years prior to the first ever moon landing - following Tintin and his fellow adventurers as they become the first humans on the Moon. This fantastic piece is split into three parts, titled 'Space', 'Nightmare Land' and 'The Journey Home' and is one of the most spectacular contest pieces in recent years.

There are three parts: Approaching the Great Saint-Bernard Pass depicting snowy mountains and the determined march of the NapoleonicArmy: The Emperor Napoleon a noble and heroic theme, accompanied by stately fanfares with an exotic flavour: and Onwards, to the Empire! describing Napoleon's relentless drive to expand the French empire across the globe at. This piecewas first performed directly in front of the Napoleon Museum in Arenenberg, Switzerland in Summer 2016.
