But G will be played like a laidback reggae-version. Flugelhorn and horns can stand up simultaneous with the glissando in bar 120.The tempo at H should be high and fresh and with several sections standing. In bar 158 should almost all players sit. At bar 160 everyone should stand up.In bar 162, all players should turn to the audience during the crescendo.

The Graces of Love (Le Gratie d'Amore) is the title of a book published in 1602 by Cesare Negri, the famous dance master of the Milan court in the Renaissance.It contains numerous dance tunes and precise descriptions of courtly dances. It also includes the tune Il bianco fior (The White Flower) on which the first movement of the present piece is based. A vigorous dance in three-four, it leads to an acceleration and a sudden shift to an even meter towards the end.The second movement, calm and contemplative in character, features the tune Vaghe bellezze ... (Veiled Beauty ...). Widely spacedmelodic parts surround two solos during which the tune is varied and developed. Finally, the third movement contains a saltarello with a hypnotic rhythm, ending the work with flair and gusto.

Several years ago, I attended an Imperial Brass concert in the United States, which featured soloist Sheona White on tenor horn. I was so impressed with her playing that I asked if I could write something for her. The result of the conversation is this piece, Romance for Horn. I thought I'd compose something melodically flowing with grace and tenderness that was very carefully crafted to match Sheona's beautiful sound on the tenor horn. As for the overall structure of the work, it basically consists of flowing melodic lines in the solo part supported by a pulsing harmonic current that runs throughout. Stealing Apples is an old swing-tune written by Fats Waller. Performances by Benny Goodman and his big band made the song very popular. In this arrangement for brass band, the mallet percussion is very essential. Mallet Percussion presents the melody from letter A and is also featured as soli-instruments from letter L to P. These parts can alternatively be played as vibraphone solo. Please be aware of the balance at letter A. Horn and Trombones must play piano but well articulated. Letter D must sound sparkling and fresh with articulated and powerful trombones and cornets (using straight-mute). Make shue that the 8th-notes are not played too dotted two bars before letterG. Almost even 8th-notes accentuated on the start of the slur is a good tip. Watch the balance at letter H. This part have to sound homogeniously. The soloistic Soprano Cornet at letter Q must be played in the style of Benny Goodan. The accompaniment must not be too powerful from letter R to S. Best of luck with the performance!

Stephen Bullas highly descriptive work was written to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Iwo Jima, which took place between the 19th February and 26th March 1945.Casualties on both the American and Japanese sides were horrendously high before the famous image of the raising of the flag on top of Mount Suribachi signalled the end of one of the most significant and terrifying Pacific conflicts of the SecondWorld War.The work received its first performance by the brass choir of the U.S. Marine Band at the National Cathedral in Washington D.C. and is divided into four programmatic sections.The first portrays the sense of anticipation before conflict (Prologue), before the arduous journey to the scene of the battle (Approach by Sea) is followed by introspection and prayer featuring the hymn tune Melita (Chorale Prayer), andfinally, the hostile confrontation itself (Engagement).There are frequent references to the Marines Hymn and the US National Anthem, particularly in the closing bars, depicting the ultimate raising of the American flag.
