Arsenal was composed for the 50th anniversary of the 'Harmonie van het Spoorwegarsenaal'[railroad arsenal], based in Mechelen (Belgium). Rather a stately concert march, it has beautiful themes and a broad melody in the trio. It was premiered in the Mechelen Cultural Center on the 11th of May 1996 during the solemn ceremony, opening the anniversary year and conducted by the composer. In the mean time, Arsenal has been recorded several times by such renowed performers like the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra, the Black Dyke Brass Band etc.Duration: 3:30

Claudio S Grafulla was born on the Spanish island of Minorca in 1818 and emigrated to the United States in 1838. Although he was a composer of many original works, the one that is still regarded as one of the finest marches ever written is his Washington Grays March. The Torchbearer was commissioned as the test piece for the 2009 National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain and the FABB Open Contest respectively and pays musical tribute to Eric Ball, considered by many to be the 20th century's most influential composer of brass band music. The thematic material is derived from the first phrase of the trio from Eric Ball's Salvation Army march, Torchbearers.Follow the Flame is a main theme from the larger work, now fully metamorphosised and mirroring in music a concept at the centre of Ball's broader philosophy, that of transformation.

This British March has been made famous around the world due to its use by H.M. Royal Marines Band. In 1882, the Deputy Adjutant General Royal Marines requested that the Bandmaster of each Royal Marine Division (Portsmouth, Plymouth, Chatham) submit an arrangement for a new regimental March for the corps. The Bandmaster of the Chatham Division, submitted an arrangement of A Life on the Ocean Wave which was authorised for use as the regimental quick March of the Corps of Royal Marines in 1882. Now for the first time, this March has been made available for Brass Band and is a perfect concert item to use in any concert.

Huntingtower - Ottorino Respighi - Alastair Wheeler
Whilst best known in the Brass Band world for The Pines of Rome, Respighi wrote Huntingtower in 1932 for Concert (wind) Band for a special concert in memory of John Philip Sousa, who had passed away on March 6 of that year. The work was premiered by the US Army Band. With only around 6 weeks to compose the work, his inspiration for the piece came from a visit to Huntingtower Castle in Scotland. A standard in the wind & military band repetoire, the work is available for Brass Band and is a great alternative to some of the traditional Overtures.
