1379: March - True to the colours (Noel Jones)This march is a reminder of the symbolism of The Salvation Army flag - blue representing God's purity, red for the blood of Christ and yellow for the fire of the Holy Spirit. I love the dear old Army flag, I'll be true and Yellow star and red and blue are three songs featured where writers have been equally inspired and have made declaration of their allegiance to God by service in The Salvation Army.1380: In all its fullness (Alan Williams)This music was written for the East of England Youth Summer School in 2024, where the delegates explored the theme 'Living life in full colour with Jesus' and as such this work is a joyous and fun-filled celebration of all the good things God has provided.1381: Eternal Spring (Nick Simmons-Smith) This simple hymn tune arrangement is based on the tune Martyrdom which is associated with the words 'As pants the heart for cooling streams'. It is a Scottish tune written around 1800 by Hugh Wilson.1382: March Medley - Emblems of service (Stephen Bulla)This march celebrates the occasion of the Coorparoo Corps' reunion (now Carindale Corps, Australia) in 2022. The music itself features a spirited medley: Joy! joy! joy! there is joy in The Salvation Army, What a friend we have in Jesus and Steadily forward march!

Originally conceived as a ceremonial work for the Band of the Royal Air Force Regiment, Veni, Sancte Spiritus was written for a Thanksgiving Service at St Clement Danes Church - the Central Church of the RAF in London. This evocative piece was inspired by the church's thousand-year-old architecture and resonant acoustic, creating a soundscape that is both reverent and atmospheric. In adapting the work for brass band, the composer introduces Vaughan Williams's hymn tune Down Ampney, seamlessly woven into the final sections of the piece. This lyrical addition enhances the spiritual tone of the music, aligning perfectly with the hymn text 'Come Down, O Love Divine', and lending the work its new title and emotional depth. This arrangement was commissioned by B3 (The Bergen Woodwind Ensemble). B3 is a large woodwind ensemble located in Bergen with a mix of professional and amateur players. My Heart Remains in Wonder is a well-known Christmas hymn in Scandinavia. I wanted my version to be different to the traditional hymn tune style in which it is normally performed. One day I was outside walking and this idea came to me: an ostinato-like, mechanical skeleton of arpeggio semiquavers on which I could 'hang' the melody. However, I also wanted to do the melody line a bit different. The inspiration for this comes from folk music and the way fiddlers hardly ever lift their bow off the strings when they play. Because of this, it is important that the melody is played in a very sostenuto style in this arrangement. The harmonies lie somewhere between jazz and folk music with a little nod towards Grieg (himself heavily influenced by folk music) in the slow middle section.
