All performers love a showpiece, and if there isn't one available, they write their own. American born Louis Moreau Gottschalk was a child prodigy and became famous for writing and performing his own piano compositions. Now it's the turn of your band to show off to the crowds with a performance of the 'Tournament Gallop'. Arranged by Adam Rutter, the piece is largely marked 'Presto', though in reality, the idea was that Gottschalk would perform the work as fast as humanly possible! An entertainment special and one audiences will love.

Tetris is without doubt, one of the bestselling games worldwide since its global release in the mid-1980s. Challenging the player to organise a series of falling blocks, the theme tune based on the Russia traditional song, Korobeiniki, in its electronic format, became synonymous with the hand held game. This work has now been scored in an exciting arrangement for brass band which builds and builds to an exciting finale. The music features all sections of the band and bridges the generations, working well as a fantastic finale showstopper.

Isle of Music - Max Stannard
This piece was written for the Friezland Band tour of the Isle of Man in 2025. It was performed as part of all three concerts the band gave in Douglas, Onchan and Castletown. It consists of three Manx traditional melodies which begins with a setting that incorporates driving energy into the song 'Arrane ny Niee', followed by the more plaintiff and reflective 'Arrane Oie Vie', before a lively finale of 'Hunt the Wren'. Esprit is a rhapsodic adventure for brass band and percussion.During its twelve minutes, features all soloists and sections of the band. After a vibrant opening the main melodic work is in the lower band accompanied by swirling cornets.The next section is a scherzo like section opened by the horns and closed by the timpani, and in between there are solo's for all.The following adagio is an expressive solo for euphonium accompanied by cup muted cornets and trombones, followed by a section for the flugel which builds up to the full band. A cornet cadenza follows after which a timpani solo takes us to a con brio section in 6/8 which features a round and fugato section which is followed by a slower section for trombones which in turn leads to a musical climax.A short allegro motto section develops an idea from earlier in the piece and leads us into a reprise of the opening section. A vibrant coda concludes the work.Duration: 12:00 Grade: Moderately Difficult

King Lear is a tragedy by William Shakespeare. Lear descends into madness bringing tragic consequences for all. Based on a mythological pre-Roman Celtic king, the play has been widely adapted for the stage and motion pictures, with the title role coveted by many of the world's most accomplished actors. Its first known performance was in 1607, George Bernard Shaw wrote, "No man will ever write a better tragedy than Lear". Originally orchestrated for 2 flutes, 4 horns, 3 trumpets, timpani, side drum, 2 harps, and strings, Debussy wrote five minutes of incidental music for a production of King Lear, produced at the Theatre Mogador Paris in 1904. Duration: 1.30. Suitable for 4th Section Bands and above.

ESPANA CANI (Brass Band) - Marquina, Pascual - Thomas, Gareth
Pascual Marquina (1873--1948) was a Spanish bandleader who wrote music for his band to play at bullfights in Madrid. Espana Cani means Spanish Gypsy Dance. The music is popular amongst ballroom dancers as a Paso Doble. The Paso Doble is traditionally used as introduction music for a bull fight and is the music used to usher in the matadors, picadors, horses and bandilleros. Espana Cani was written in 1925 and is suitable for all grades of band.
