Leonesse is the name of the castle and landed estates of Lady Guinevere, from the famous story of King Arthur. This stately concert march leads us to the old England with its legendary castles and the beautiful and impressive landscapes where many knights have died. Following a festive opening, a majestic melody symbolises the atmosphere of courtly elegance and refinement. The second part of this original composition describes, with a broad and dignified melody, the beauty and extensiveness of the English hills. Duration: 5:05.

This is a sumptuous, lyrical setting of Scottish folk singer-songwriter Archie Fischer's originally up-beat song, with solos for baritone and cornet. COMPOSER: Chris CobonMoments in BrassSet 1Nos. 1 - 4'Moments in Brass' follows on, chronologically, from three programmatic pieces about steam trains. LMR600 Gordon, Tornado (LNER Peppercorn Class A1 60163) and The Lady Armaghdale.In contrast, Moments in Brass are all examples of absolute music and is non-representational. The compositions develop from ideas I have found interesting and, in some cases quirky.The pieces are grouped into sets of four; which allows for shorter pieces that still have musical value. Conductors should not feel compelled to perform all four together (although they do work well in that form) the moments are not movements, but individual pieces in their own right.Musical traits: I particularly like exploring shifting tonal centres, metre and the use of appoggiaturas. Hidden in a number of the Brass Moments is the use of a rising scale, inspired by the brass in the closing sections of Respighi's Pines of Rome.

Scene From the Silver Plate takes itas title from the Rio de la Plata, the literal translation being Silver River.This piece, using some of the traditional music from the region (Variants on the tango etc.), is quasi-incidental music from a fictional film, involving some kind of chase from the silver mountains to the estuary. Our fictional hero also has a romantic interest - will he make it away with his silver, and his lady?The trombone duets with various members of the band, including solo horn, euphonium and cornet.
