Moonraker (1979) was the eleventh spy film in the James Bond series, and the fourth to star Roger Moore as the fictional MI6 agent James Bond. Bond investigates the theft of a space shuttle, leading him to arch-villain Hugo Drax. Bond follows the trail from California to Venice, Rio de Janeiro, the Amazon rainforest, and finally outer space to prevent a plot to wipe out the world population and to re-create humanity with a master race. The magical title song was sung by Shirley Bassey. This superb arrangement by Darrol Barry features soprano cornet and is suitable for all levels of band.

Compostela - The Way of St James describes the pilgrims' journey. After a slow introduction, a brilliant theme announces the start of the journey. The arrival in Spain is indicated by incantatory chants and majestic chords. Finally, the music softens as the pilgrims venerate St James.

Postcard from Riddings, A (The Two Windmills) - H. Snell
This is very much a lively concert overture. Written to a commission from the Riddings Band, a pair of windmills... named 'Sarah and James' after the owner and his wife... were a notable landmark until burned down in suspicious circumstances and later demolished. Nothing more descriptive than rather circular musical motives connect these with the music. Originally written for the BBC Choirboy of the Year 2002, James Eager, who was a Chorister at Llandaff Cathedral and attended the Cathedral Choir school. The concept for the song was to combine classical music with a contemporary flavour including a subtle Celtic influence. After being recorded by Llandaff Cathedral Choir and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Richard Phillips arranged it for the world famous Brass Band, YBS. It is hoped that this version as a Euphonium Solo will breathe new life into this ethereal melody. - Darren Bartlett

This carol was written by James Montgomery. It was first published in a local newspaper - the Sheffield Iris on Christmas Eve in 1816. Originally sung to a number of melodies, the music most associated with this carol is a French melody 'Iris'. The refrain 'Gloria in Excelsis Deo' was added in the version published in 'The Oxford Book of Carols' (1928), thus establishing the most widely recognised version of this carol. Duration: 4.00

Handel in the Band is a virtuoso set of symphonic variations on one of Handel's best known keyboard dances, the Sarabande from his Suite in D minor, HWV 437, based on the Spanish traditional dance La Folia. Kenneth Downie's work was commissioned by Brass Band Treize Etoiles, for performance at the 2013 Swiss National Brass Band Championships, where it was conducted by James Gourlay. The title is a reference to Percy Grainger's popular Handel in the Strand, and is indicative of the witty and theatrical nature of the music, which is more playful than conventional competition pieces and as such offers different challenges to brass bands as well as being thoroughly entertaining for audiences.Kenneth Downie is one of the most respected and experienced brass band composers. His music has been widely performed and published throughout the brass band world since the 1960s.Handel in the Band was selected as the set work for the Championship Section final of the 2018 National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain, which took place at the Royal Albert Hall, London, on 6th October 2018.Duration: 15.00
