This is a light concert piece which has been created in the 1960s cool jazz style. It is a great conversation piece and requires an advanced band with a good percussion section. Interestingly it requires a vibraphone to play it effectively. The concept of the piece is that it could be the title music to a fictional 1960s espionage film.

£32.99In Praise of Him - Tone Poem Joseph Knight
This original composition is a short reflection on the sweetness of praise to our Lord Jesus. It is my own personal reflection. It starts with a soft sweet melody on horns which is varied and moves throughout the band. The piece is in ternary form and as the melody develops it returns one tone higher, signifying rising praise. It then finishes rousingly with a steadily increasing "Halleluiah" to finish. The piece lasts nearly four minutes and would grace any concert as a character piece.

This comes from a set of seasonal motets for choir. Mendelssohn composed these motets during the mid-1840's for the Cathedral Choir of Berlin. Weihnachten literally means "Christmas" and is a celebratory piece. It has been scored for full brass band without percussion and lasts for less than two minutes. It makes a fantastic opening showpiece to any half of a Christmas concert.

This march is in 6/8 time and was inspired by a trip on the Gloucester and Warwickshire heritage railway. The City of Truro was the engine which pulled the train. It is the first steam locomotive ever to have reached the speed of one hundred miles per hour. This march is a jaunty enjoyable tune which is a real audience pleaser. It is of a simple standard and could even be attempted by a youth group. An ideal number for playing in a massed band concert with youth.

This is a traditional contest style March. It is in standard march format with a DC al fine. It starts in concert Db with a simple syncopated rhythm in the first repeated section which reflects the rhythm of the title 'Defender'. It is scored for full brass band with drum kit and glockenspiel.

Mendelssohn conducted the first English performance of 'Elijah' on 26 August 1846 at Birmingham Town Hall and it was immediately acclaimed a classic of the genre. This Aria, O' Rest In The Lord, is a classic for alto voice and therefore transposes nicely for the Tenor Horn. In this arrangement the whole Tenor Horn section plays the alto part to produce a sublime timbre. This is a fantastic feature piece for any concert.

The Strauss family were known as the "Waltz Kings" and they had a tremendous success during the latter half of the nineteenth centaury. Johann Strauss II composed this full opera in 1874, the translation of the title literally means "The Bat". This overture has become a firm favourite with audiences world wide and has been particularly at the famous Vienna New Years Day concert. This is offered as a full score and parts.

Crafted especially for Philip Broome (euphonium soloist with "The President's Own" United States Marine Band) and the Dallas Brass Band, this stunning arrangement by Andrew Wainwright was premiered at the 2024 Christmas with The Salvation Army concert in Dallas, Texas. Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D is a cornerstone of the Baroque period, a work widely known and frequently heard at concerts and events globally. This brass band arrangement by Steven Ponsford offers a new perspective on this classical piece. The arrangement begins with the familiar ground bass theme, followed by a series of four-bar motifs. Ponsford has developed these motifs, distributing them across the band to give interest to every section of the band. A short fugue is included in the middle of the piece, referencing a style Pachelbel contributed to. The majority of the music is accompanied by a rock beat, aiming to create a fresh and lighthearted interpretation of the original work. This will be an ideal item for both concert and entertainment contest programmes.
