Adios Nonino is an enchanting and passionate tango written by the Argentine composer and accordion player Astor Piazzolla. Although the piece was originally written for accordion Klaas van der Woude has created a great arrangement for brass band.

The 'Admiral Spirit' is the pride of the Navy. The ship is at sea, there is no wind, the sun is shining. The crew are busy piloting the ship into port in prime condition. The admiral himself will inspect the vessel. The first movement (Allegro Con Spirito) gives musical expression to the majestic ship and its toiling crew. In the second movement (Andante), the ship sails into port. It has been polished and technically everything is in order. The admiral will be proud when he inspects the ship. Third movement (Allegro Molto): the captain and his crew are nervous (modulations) while working at the 'finishing touch'. The Navy Band is ready to receive the admiral !. Hemay be proud of his flagship.

Within thiswork O Little Town of Bethlehem is skilfully used to connect the individual sections. A very varied and beautifully constructed composition to enrich any Christmas programme.

A beautiful four part suite for youth band. I. Adventure Game: a cheerful march with a strong rhythmical percussion beat; II. Free Again;: an attractive slow introduced by a beautiful trumpet sol; III. Jamaican Sun : a characteristic and titillating calypso that will give the heebie-jeebies; and IV. Rock the House: a smooth rock tune that will make everybody itching to dance. The whole suite is extremely well orchestrated by Ennio Salvere.
