These exercises are completed by other sets of studies and exercises by the same author for a complete technical formation. Michel Bl?ger initially wrote these studies for Tuba or for Trombone. Henri Couillaud (1878-1955) was a French trombonist and a soloist at the Paris Opera. His method was highlighting the importance of the air when playing.

To this day, Eug?ne Bozza (1905-1991) remains one of the most prolific composers for wind instruments, despite being a violinist himself. His 13 Capriccio Studies for Trombone is no exception to the composer's success.
