After the success of Mary Popping in 1964, Disney once again had a hit on their hands seven years later with the release of 'Bedknobs & Broomsticks'. Set in 1940, the film told the story of Eglantine Price, a spinster who was learning the ways of witchcraft to help Britain with the War effort. Richard & Robert Sherman provided another excellent score, with memorable songs that now for the first time, are available for Brass Band. This toe-tapping new work features The Old Home Guard, The Age of Not Believing, Portabello Road and, The Beautiful Briny Sea (with added bubbles!). Audiences of all ages will appreciation this title and is a great addition to any concert programme. £119.95Windows of the World (Brass Band - Score and Parts) - Graham, Peter
Commissioned by YBS Band, this is a kaleidoscopic six movement sequel to Cry of the Celts. The work provides solo opportunities for several principal players. Peter Graham takes us first to Latin America, then to Japan and onwards to Saharan Africa. We get a gentle reprieve via a nostalgic hint of the British Isles before we land in the melting pot of all styles, the USA. In this final section the driving swing section is abruptly stopped and a drum cadenza leads us back into the opening Latin music. The movements are: Amazonia; Rainforest; The Rising Sun; Drums of Thunder; Celtic Dream; Earth Walk. Any of the movements can be programmed individually. Some movements are recorded on QPRL215D Master Brass (Volume Thirteen). All movements are recorded on QPRL123D Windows of the World. Total Duration: 20:30.

This rousing fanfare prelude for Brass Band and optional Organ by Kenneth Downie is based on the monumental hymn Now thank we all our God, which dates from 17th century Germany. The arrangement is featured on the CD Classic Hymns for Orchestra - The Symphonic Music of Kenneth Downie (available here) as a symphonic brass setting. The arranger writes: 'The depth of the words is underpinned by the grandeur of the music, so I have tried to reflect the same regal approach in my setting for brass band.' This arrangement will be an ideal opener or prelude for concerts or church services.
