Peter Warlock's set of set of six dances in renaissance style, Capriol Suite, is by far his most famous work. The suite consists of Basse-Danse, a lively dance for older folk; a stately Pavane; a delicate, yet lively Tordion; Bransles (pronounced 'Brawl'), a fast country dance which works its way into a frenzy, continuously building in speed and excitement; Pieds-en-l'air, with its beautifully serene lines and Mattachins, an exhilarating sword dance with its driving rhythm, culminating in violent dissonances bringing the piece to a spirited close. This is a new arrangement suitable for any band, including those in the 4th Section that relish a challenge. Percussion has been added in all but one of the movements, and is for two players. Handel's?Messiah?was composed in 1741, receiving it's premiere in Dublin a year later. Written in three parts, the Hallelujah Chorus concludes the second part, and is often performed separately from the main oratorio, and especially around Christmas. There are no choral parts included with the set, however it works with all the major editions of vocal score. Duration: 3:30

Palladio is probably the most widely recognised of Karl Jenkin's works. It was used for some time in television commercials for DeBeer's Diamonds, in a world-wide campaign. The work was inspired by the sixteenth century Italian architect Andrea Palladio, whose work embraces the renaissance of harmony and order, a philosophy reflecting Karl Jenkins' attitude to composition.

Edward MacDowell can be regarded as the first great American composer, although he disliked the idea of being classified as any sort of musical nationalist. He composed a large number of orchestral works but it is the charming and unpretentious suite of musical miniatures, Woodland Sketches, that has survived as his best-known work, with To a Wild Rose being the most popular. All for One! - Caradog, Hughes & Forslund - Maurice Forslund
'All for One' is a road march based on two well-known Welsh melodies 'Rachie' by Caradog Roberts and 'Calon Lan' by John Hughes. Supporters of Welsh Rugby Union will probably have sung them on more than one occasion. The two melodies have been assembled, added to, and arranged by our colleague Maurice Forslund in Stockholm, and the resulting march is one that is straightforward, in the traditional Brass Band genre, and well within the capabilities of most bands. It works equally well as a concert opener or a processional march for the village fete.

"Christ lag in Todesbanden" is an Easter hymn by Martin Luther. Its melody is by Luther and Johann Walter. Both the text and the melody were based on earlier examples. This setting is by Georg Bohm and works very well for the brass band. This arrangement is presented without percussion.
