    Judd: Rosehill

The Salvation Army Assurance Society Band was the first Salvation Army band to take part in the Lord Mayors Show, in 1928. The Society relocated from London to Reading at the beginning of World War Two and the title of this march is derived from the name of the Reading property. Rosehill is a fine march containing all the drama and pyrotechnics that make it suitable for a Whit Friday type march contest.

Chalk Farm No. 2 (Brass Band - Score and Parts)

The tune 'March on, we shall win the day' is common to both marches. The later march is symphonic rather than processional, including as it does irregular bars of 5 and 7 beats.

Queens and Bees - Erik Waerts

Here we have a stirring march with an obvious Scottish influence. Though the orchestration is rather simple, this march with its melodic trio sounds great. It can be used as a parade march, but will also be most efficient to play in or simply performed as a concert march.

Orion - Jan van der Roost

There are all sorts of marches: fast and slow, solemn and energetic, military and civil, procession and funeral. Orion is a so-called 'slow march'. However the moderate tempo does not make a passive or heavy impression. On the contrary, this march contains natural optimism and spontaneity. The persistant 'pulse' gives this majestic march a noble character
