VIEW SCORE PDF Greg Jasperse's choral setting of the much-loved hymn Abide with me has become very popular with choirs and has here been arranged for brass band by Norwegian composer Espen Haukas. The scoring is for standard brass band although the Repiano Cornet part is set as a second Flugel part. Optional cues are written for some upper register notes meaning the piece is playable by bands of all levels. Written at the request of Bandmaster Christopher Ward and the Eastern Michigan Divisional Band of The Salvation Army (USA), it was premiered at the 2019 Autumn Praise Festival in Rochester, Michigan which featured the Eastern Michigan Divisional Band and Choir, and the Chicago Staff Band. VIEW SCORE PDF This trumpet solo was written by Nick Simmons-Smith at the request of Dallas Brass Band for a Christmas concert featuring Elmer Churampi, international trumpet soloist. The solo features three Christmas songs: i. Mi Burrito Sabanero voy camino de Belen (With my donkey of the Savannah, I'm going to Bethlehem) ii. Noche de paz (Silent night) iii. Campana Sobre Campana (Bell above bells, O bells of Bethlehem) These songs are all very popular in Central and South America - including Peru, where Elmer Churampi is originally from. Each tune has been given a different Latin treatment producing a fast-slow-fast festive concert solo. The solo is not long, but each movement could be played individually. Elegy is a consortium commission in celebration of the 75th birthday of the distinguished wind band conductor Timothy Reynish. The music derives from a youthful symphony written when Hesketh was 16, the same source as his popular Masque. Thames Journey - Nigel Hess
Thames Journey is a 10-minute musical journey that follows the river Thames from its origins, as a few drops of water in Wiltshire, to the point where it meets the open sea at Greenwich. Along the way, Hess draws upon many musical links along the Thames, such as an old Wiltshire melody, morris dancing in Oxfordshire, boating songs from Berkshire and street songs in London. £29.95Badinerie - Jonathan Bates
DURATION: 2'00". DIFFICULTY: Difficult. J.S Bach originally composed 'Badinerie' as part of his Orchestra Suite No. 2 in B Minor, and quickly became one of the most popular virtuoso show-pieces for flute players due to it's quick pace and complexity. In more modern times, the melody has become synonymous with the Nokia mobile phone ringtone, one of 2 famous early ringtones based on the music of Bach (alongside his Prelude to Cello Suite No.1). One lesser known take on the classic Badinerie is by Italian drummer Andrea Vadrucci (alias Vadrum) who has made a global reputation for himself by taking various well-known classical works and re-imagining them into a rock/metal style, and it is this interpretation which acts as the inspiration for this showy, yet tongue-in-cheek feature for percussion. .
