Fanfare for on occasion (Bra) - Morten J. Wallin
'Fanfare for an Occasion' was composed as an entry to the 'International Brass Band Composer Competition 2020' organized by Andrew Wainwright. Adjudicators were James Curnow, Dr. Liz Lane and Paul Hindmarsh. There were some 92 entries and Fanfare for an Occasion was awarded 2nd place. It has since been revised and scored for Concert Band and Fanfare Band.

Fantasia on a Flemish Sea Song (Bra) - Simon Van Hoecke
'Fantasia on a Flemish Sea Song' was commissioned by Jeroen Berwaerts and VLAMO for the gala concert of the European Brass Band Championships 2017. These took place in the Belgian seaside town of Ostend, which explains the choice to make a fantasy on the sailor's song "Al die willen te kap'ren varen". A first reference to the song can be found in a Ghent song collection from 1856 by E. de Coussemaker: "Chants populaires des Flamands de France". The fantasia is faithful to tradition composed in a free form with variation elements and allows the soloist to showcase virtuosity and narrative power.

Dogs of War (Bra) - Christopher Lennertz - Bert Van Thienen
The game's story was written by John Milius, the writer of Apocalypse Now. In the game, the player takes on the role of Lieutenant William Holt, an OSS operator. The missions take place in France, North Africa, the Soviet Union and Belgium.

Toccatina (Bra) - Olivier Marquis
In May 2017, during the European Brass Band Championships, the composer meets Michel Leveugle who asks him to write the testpiece for the B Division of the Flemish Open Brass Band Championship 2018. On the way back to Switzerland, Olivier Marquis invents an ostinato which later forms the backbone from Toccatina. After a first, restless, presentation of the theme by the trombones, the ostinato shifts to the basses, euphoniums and horns after which the theme is renewed at the cornets. A quiet mysterious passage brings the flugel and euphonium to the fore, after which the ostinato takes back his place. The theme comes back, to evolve to major and then close the work festively.

Bethel Street (Bra) - Andi Cook
A lovely street march which the composer wrote for his old band - Yorkshire Co-op band. Bethel street is the street in Brighouse where the annual march contest takes place and is also where William Booth (founder of the salvation army) was minister for two years.

Score & Parts Best described as a Xylophone style solo written for Tenor Horn. Kevin wrote this as a finale to his guest soloist performance at his 50 Years A Bandsman concert and dedicated to the memory of John Holland his music teacher from his school days who passed away a few months before the concert took place. Also available with piano accompaniment.

A Road Less Travelled By(Philip Sparke)Anglo Music | 16 minutesA Road Less Travelled Bywas commissioned byPalangos Orkestrasfor the Championship Section of the 2020 European Brass Band Championships held in Palanga, Lithuania.The composer writes:The title alludes to a poem by American author, Robert Frost, which appeared in his 1916 collection,Mountain Intervals. In common with most of my larger works, the piece is not programmatic, but purely abstract; there is no extra-musical story. The choice of title chimes with my view of how composers can often develop. There can be no 'destination' in a composer's career, but rather a continuing journey to an unknown place. From piece to piece a composer needs to decide his or her next steps, never really knowing where they might lead. As Frost so eloquently describes, these sorts of instinctive decisions guide all our lives.

COMPOSER: Neil LockThis march was submitted to the march composers' competition for "Bandamonium 3"in Hatherleigh, Devon in July 2024. The winning march was played by massed bands at the conclusion of the celebrations on Saturday 27th July 2024. Unfortunately, this march took second place in the competition, behind the march of Paul Pennicotte-Henrie, conductor of Okehampton Silver Band.The march can be played with or without the singing. (Even at the Whit Friday marches, begad!) I suggest that it should be introduced by 3-beat rolls.When played with singing, the "Bandamonium" lyrics (bars 10-13 and 56-57) are to be sung by all players, keeping to their own parts, with appropriate octave adjustment for their individual singing voices. Conductor and percussionists should sing with the main theme (Db and C at bars 10-13, F at 56-57). Listen to the 3rd cornet players!There is an additional part for Singers, in which the trio melody (bars 58 onwards) can be sung by Soprano and Tenor singers at a moderate choir standard. An octave-down option is also provided in the higher bars. This part can be given to "spare" singers within the band, or to singers external to the band if opportunity permits. "Harpe Davids" Psalm 150, arranged for brass band in a creative and festive way. Written for the 100th anniversary of the music association Harpe Davids from the Dutch village of Ridderkerk. As the opening of a concert, this festive piece of music is certainly not out of place. The sharp brass kicks off with signals, after which the whole orchestra gives a festive response. The psalm is fully quoted in the arrangement, including the two verses, making it also suitable for congregational singing in church and worship services.
