£127.30Hoppeslatt - Øystein Olsen Vadsten
This is an original piece of music composed by Oystein Olsen Vadsten, inspired by old Norwegian folk dances. "Jumpety Jump" actually started out as a "reinlender" (Norwegian Folk Dance) which origins from Rhinland. The reinlender is well disguised in this arrangement by adding the shuffle- and swing style to it. The piece is first of all meant as a "happy go lucky" tune, but is full of rhythmical and technical challenges. Its put up as a jazz-tune, first presenting the melody, then "improvisasations" by the different instrument groups, before going back to the first theme. The title "Jumpety Jump" refers to the kind of jumping feeling the shuffle groove gives.

When the publisher asked me to make an arrangement of an ABBA tune, S.O.S. was the first song I thought of. Its introduction and melody are well suited to play for Wind Band. Admittedly, the key had to be shifted to make it sound good for this instrumentation. To me, this is nostalgia, while for others, the Mamma Mia movie/show will be what they associate with this wonderful song. Apart from a few medleys, few of ABBA's songs are available to Wind Band. So, it was very fun to work on this classic.The arrangement is made quite simply to fit many sizes of Bands. Technically, it is also relatively simple both in range and rhythm. As you can see, there are many ways to adjust this arrangement to your own ensemble. Bring out melody lines and the bassline, and a lot is done. Thefollowing movement introduces us to the bad guy with his evil mind and vicious plan to destroy our hero.In the third movement they chase each other and end up in a huge fight. They knock each other out and liestill on the ground. Which one of them will survive?In the final movement our hero wakes up at the hospital the very next morning with his girl friend at hisside. He realises that he won the fight and the bad guy is set in jail. His girlfriend embraces him and thecamera moves back. End credits roll as the piece closes with a fanfare.Each movement can also be played separately.

No Man's Land was commissioned by the 'Noordlimburgse Brass Band'. Thierry Deleruyelle has written this work in 2018, 100 years after the end of World War 1. This work is related to his first work written for brass band, Fraternity, which tells the story about the mining accident in Courieres, France. Countries such as Belgium and Germany helped France. Eight years later World War 1 broke out. Instead of helping each other, no man's land arose.

If you need a beautiful slow interlude for any concert then this is the piece for you. This short work by Italian composer Thomaso Albinoni has a luscious melody that will bring tears to any eyes. For hundreds of years the manuscript of this work had been lost and was only discovered in 1945. Despite this it has become Albinoni's best known work and has topped the classical charts on many occasions. Wonderful figures for the flugel and soprano cornet bring out extra emotion in this arrangement by Jacob de Haan.
