Love Eternal was arranged by Gavin Lamplough for trombone virtuoso Isobel Daws to perform in a special concert with the Melbourne Staff Band to honour its Bandmaster Ken Waterworth, on the occasion of his retirement after 30 years of leading the band. The arranger uses Jarod Cooper's popular contemporary worship song King of Kings, Majesty as the basis for the work and the piece seeks to provide a vehicle for the rich timbres of the trombone to be enjoyed by the listener. £29.92Fanfare from La Peri(Brass Band) Dukas arr. Rob Bushnell
La Peri is a one-act ballet by the French composer Paul Dukas, best known for The Sorcerer's Apprentice (L'apprenti sorcier) as in the 1940 Disney film Fantasia. Dukas was commissioned to write La Peri by the Ballets Russes, producing a Poeme danse en un tableau ('dance poem in one scene') in 1911; this become his last published work. With Natalia Trouhanova due to play the Peri and Vaslav Nijinsky to play Iskender (the name of Alexander the Great in Persian, who is scouting around Iran in search of the Flower of Immortality), the production was ultimately cancelled because Serge Diaghilev feel Trouhanova was not a skilled enough dancer to be partnered to Nijinsky. Trouhanova later hired Ivan Clustine to choreograph the music, with the ballet premiering at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris on 22 April 1912.The brilliant fanfare that precedes the ballet is often performed separately and is the arrangement available here. Arranged for British-style brass band, it has optional percussion parts as well as alternative parts for horns in F and bass-clef lower brass. A Christmas Trifle is a fantasy for brass band based on the famous English Carol, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. The piece begins very lively before changing to a more jazzy style with a walking bass. This is followed by a jazz-waltz in 5/4 with solos for flugal, euphonium and soprano cornet which leads into a slow chorale section, gradually building from p to fff . This is followed by the final section which begins with a simple sleigh bell pulse over which the Tchaikovsky Christmas favourite, Trepak from the Nutcracker Suite is merged with the God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen theme bringing A Christmas Trifle to a rousing close. New York - Nigel Hess
For anyone who is familiar with this bizarre and wonderful city, this piece needs no explanation. New York is the third movement of East Coast Pictures, originally written for wind band, commissioned in 1985 by the British Youth Wind Orchestra with funds from National Westminster Bank plc. Masque - Kenneth Hesketh
Masque has been transcribed for brass band from Hesketh's Scherzo for Orchestra, commissioned by the National Children's Orchestra in 1987. The main theme is bravura and is often present, in the background. DURATION: 8 minutes. DIFFICULTY: 1st+. That Promised Land was the culmination of 5 years of my personal interest in spiritual music since performing Michael Tippett's wonderful Oratorio 'A Child of Our Time' at the RNCM. Tippett's work combines original material, with music inspired and based upon spirituals, whilst all of the major 'chorus' sections are direct settings of those tunes. This was a work that had stuck with me for a long time, and one I tried to emulate in a smaller form with this work. The title is a quote from one of the verses of the spiritual 'Deep River'. This piece was composed for Jaren Hornmusikkforening as part of their programme for the 2018 SIDDIS Championships held in Stavanger, Norway. .

Enduring Faith was commissioned by Christopher Ward and the Five Lakes Silver Band and is a lyrical work for brass band that explores the intersection of hope, resilience, and conviction. Designed with a focus on melodic clarity and expressive phrasing, the composition moves through a series of nuanced emotional shifts - ranging from quiet, reflective passages to moments of expansive lyricism and affirmation. The harmonic structure travels through several keys, serving as a musical metaphor for the changing seasons of life. Throughout the piece, the texture is enriched by featured soloists from across the ensemble, including flugel horn, cornet, euphonium, baritone, and trombone. This work is dedicated to Doug and Stephanie Bayne, long-standing members of the Five Lakes Silver Band, in recognition of their commitment to their community and their steadfast support of the ensemble. It was recorded by the Five Lakes Silver Band on their 2025 album, Legacy. The Dreaded Groove And Hook (Score & Parts) - Simon Dobson
The Dreaded Groove and Hook is an up-tempo acid-jazz number that draws inspiration from bands like Jamiroquai and The Youngblood Brass Band. The groove in question is the main tune that is shared round the band, whilst the hook, in 'pop' terms, is the catchy bit of the song. The whole band joins in to play a huge 'riff' that acts as a chorus to the jazz-like verses.The piece was commissioned by Jason Katsikaris and The Leyland Band, who gave the first performance as part of their programme for the Brass In Concert Championships, held at The Sage, Gateshead on the 16th November 2008.
