No. 2134 Festival March - Troops Salute (Paul Sharman)Written to mark the retirement of Major John Mott as Bandmaster of the Household Troops Band in 2010, this march features the tunes 'Are you washed?' and 'There's only one flag for me'. No. 2135 Songs of Salvation (Andrew Mackereth)This piece was written for Haaglanden Band in the Netherlands and contains some old Salvation Army Songs; 'Ring the bell, watchman' (T.B. 776), 'Make no delay' (T.B.730), 'Room for Jesus' (T.B. 395), 'Tell me the old, old story' (T.B. 265) and 'Praise God, I'm saved' (T.B. 770).No. 2136 Shepherd's Carol (Dean Jones arr. Kenneth Downie)Originally published in November 1955, this lovely carol was written by father and son, Dean and Henry Goffin, both of whom were Salvation Army officers. Commissioner Sir Dean Goffin was awarded his kinghthood in the Queen's Honours list of 1983No. 2137 On High! (Martin Cordner)Taking its inspiration from the world of rock music, this piece features the song, 'Lord, I lift your name on high'.

The traditional Welsh tune of Crugybar is most commonly associated with words by Howell Elvet Lewis which appear in the Baptist Hymn Book of 1962; 'The light of the morning is breaking, the shadows are passing away'. The Salvation Army Song Book of 1986 lists two further hymns that can be sung to the tune; 'I stand all bewildered with wonder and gaze on the ocean of love' ( W F Crafts) and 'When Jesus from Calvary called me, unfolding its meaning to me' (Will J Brand). This arrangement was made for Martyn Bryant, the long-serving principal cornetist of Bristol Easton Band of The Salvation Army.

VIEW SCORE PDF The arranger, Kenneth Downie writes: 'This music was commissioned by Mike Griffiths, Music Director of Riviera Concert Brass, based in Torquay in Devon, England. It is developed around the hymn tune Margaret, and written in memory of the lady of that name who was a renowned supporter of, and generous donor to the band. The graceful melody was written by Timothy Matthews (1826-1910), and it is usually associated with the words of the hymn, the first verse of which says: Thou didst leave thy throne and thy kingly crown When thou camest to earth for me; But in Bethlehem's home was there found no room For thy holy nativity, O come to my heart, Lord Jesus; There is room in my heart for thee. I feel that there is a strong emotional core to this lovely tune and any performance should seek to bring out this quality, in a musical manner.' PDF download includes score and full set of parts. 1343: March - Spreading the Word (Ian Clarke)This lively march features the songs Look, ye saints! the sight is glorious (S.A.S.B. 227), When we walk with the Lord (S.A.S.B. 690), I want to tell what God has done (S.A.S.B. 852), and makes reference to the old chorus When I remember that he died for me I'll never go back any more.1344: Prelude on 'Anstasis' (Sam Creamer)The Greek word anstasis translates to resurrection and particularly refers to the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The popular worship song O praise the name (Anstasis) forms the basis of this prelude. While the theme of this work is most applicable for Easter use, it could well find its place in programme and worship repertoire all year round.1345: Flugel Solo - The old rugged cross (Eiliv Herikstad)This Flugel Horn Solo (also playable by Cornet) includes chords on the soloist part so that the soloist can have improvisational freedom, or can play the written out solo.1346: March - Showers of blessing (Zachary Docter)This energetic march uses Gary Rose's melody Showers of blessing (STTL Vol.24, Pt.1).
