Originally Cornfield Rock was written by Jacob de Haan as a version for male choir. It was based on a text by William Shakespeare on a melody of Thomas Morley (It was a lover and his lass). The original melody however was abandoned completely and in its place Jacob de Haan created a new one in rock style. The Order (founded in 1834) is a strong charitable institution whose founder members recognised their duty to help their fellow men who fell into need "as they walked through the forests of life". It had an early interest in Archery which has continued throughout the ages (It is Performance Partner for the Team GB Archery team at the 2016 Olympics).Foresters Brass Band was formed in 1959 and is now known as Foresters Brass 2000 and performance was originally restricted to Foresters Brass.

Bulgarian folk music has a long tradition and numerous typical characteristics, such as particular dissonances and complex, irregular rhythms. In Bulgarian Dances (Part II) (which can be performed together with the previously published title Bulgarian Dances) Franco Cesarini has preserved the original spirit of Bulgarian folk music, yet has imbued it with a symphonic character and brought it into the concert hall. Brass Band set including full score. The Post Horn part is provided in Ab, however a Bb trumpet part is also included in the set for greater flexiblity. In 1844, the German cornet player Hermann Koenig wrote Post Horn Gallop for Post Horn with orchestra accompaniment. Its great popularity meant that it has made its way into the brass and wind band repertoires. Ed Keeley has given it a festive twist by including motifs of Jingle Bells, Good King Wenceslas and Here We Come A-Wassailing.

This lovely melody was composed by two German musicians who tried to emulate the popularity of the famous Scottish tune Amazing Grace. The piece was an instant success and achieved a substantial degree of popularity after it was featured in the film, Four Weddings and a Funeral. It is usually performed with just pipes and drums, however this arrangement succeeds in joining this traditional classical melody with a steady drum beat, flowing contrapuntal descants and harmonies to create an epic opus. The arrangement is functional with or without Bagpipes.

IT'S A LONG WAY TO TIPPERARY (Brass Band) - Kerwin, Simon
A great concert piece. "It's a Long Way to Tipperary" is a British music hall song written by Jack Judge and co-credited to, but not co-written by, Henry James "Harry" Williams. It was allegedly written for a 5 shilling bet in Stalybridge on 30 January 1912 and performed the next night at the local music hall. Judge's parents were Irish, and his grandparents came from Tipperary. It became popular among soldiers in the First World War and is remembered as a song of that war.

Marchissimo will make a fantastic opening piece for any concert. It does however come with a twist! It can be played simply as written, but is really designed to be 'staged' with players coming on the concert platform one by one as they begin to play. The piece actually consists of three marches in one, each of which highlights a section of the band. The piece culminates in a final climax where all three march themes are played simultaneously.Duration: 4.30
