This evocative music portrays an underwater escape from the clutches of the legendary, multi-tentacled sea creature, the Kraken. From the mysteriousness of the seabed, the awakening of the beast, an exciting chase ensues as you evade capture. The work is full of excitement and energy, balancing myth alongside a cinematic sound world. Originally composed in 2017 for Jaren Hornmusikkforenig , Escape the Kraken! was the finale of the concept programme Twenty-Thousand Leagues Beneath the Sea . The work is published here in its 2019 revision, as performed at the Brass In Concert championships by the Flowers Band in their award-winning programme Captain Nemo's Forgotten Journal. In Many Lands - The Adventures of Mary Seacole was commissioned by The Royal Marines Band Service for The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain. The first performance of the piece was on 16 April 2022 in Huddersfield Town Hall to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the NYBBGB. It was next performed in Birmingham Town Hall (on 28 April 2022) at a joint charity concert of the NYBBGB and The Band of Her Majestyas Royal Marines, Collingwood, for the European Brass Band Association Prelude Concert. The work is a musical account of the life of Mary Seacole who was a British-Jamaican nurse and businesswoman who set up the "British Hotel" behind the lines during the Crimean War. The work takes inspiration from Seacoleas biography Wonderful Adventures of Mrs. Seacole in Many Lands. The work is divided into three movements:

Using material from Antonio VivaldiasThe Four Seasons, this programmatic work depicts the following story:The year is 2024, Earth has been invaded by a group of evil organists called aThe Buxtehudariansa, wiping out most of mankind. However, a secret group of highly intelligent dogs have defrosted the composer Antonio Vivaldi who was cryogenically frozen by the Vatican society of music for obedient dogs. Their chief dog leader aBongoa who over years of listening to the music of Vivaldi has gained the ability to fly, is set to undertake a mission to Saturn to obtain the golden Bassoon with which to defeat the tyrannical Buxtehuderians. With Vivaldi firmly mounted on Bongo they take off, entering full dog overdrive and breaking through the many satellites and second-hand saxophones that surround the earths atmosphere. As they fly through space, Vivaldi sadly gets distracted by a drunken trombonist and becomes separated from Bongo. Bongo now summons his musical ability to perform Vivaldias second movement of Spring from the Four Seasons on a glockenspiel stored at the international space station, enticing Antonio back on their mission. They finally arrive at Saturn and swiftly grab the golden Bassoon, returning to Earth with a thump. Their mission is complete! £40.00Losgaintir. For solo Baritone/Euphonium and brass band
Recommended - Championship to 2nd Section Written for Katrina Marzella and the Black Dyke band, Losgaintir (or Luskentyre in English) is one of my favourite places in Scotland. Losgaintir is on the west coast of the isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides and has an outstanding beach widely regarded as one of the most beautiful in the world. Losgaintir is a wonderful place to be on warm sunny days with its long stretch of white sands, aqua marine seas, the incredible mountain backdrop of south Lewis and the uninhabited island of Taransaigh in view. The weather in Harris is notorious for changing very quickly and this piece tries to reflect this. Although idyllic on a calm, sunny days, on stormy days Losgaintir's character becomes dark and foreboding, with low dark clouds and sweeping winds from the Atlantic creating a dark, brooding atmosphere. The opening melody (written modally like a traditional Scottish Gaelic air) depicts the calm serenity of Losgaintir on a beautiful summer's day. The character of the fast section that follows portrays winter in Losgaintir during a tempestuous storm with bracing winds. Recommended - Championship & 1st Section One Small Step is a programmatic piece describing the launch, the journey to the moon and the successful landing on the Moon's surface by the crew of the Apollo 11 mission in 1969. Commissioned by The Flowers Band, helping to lead them to their 'Most Entertaining Band' award-winning performance at the 2013 Butlins Mineworkers Brass Band contest, the piece also won the 'Best New Composition' award at the 2013 West Lothian Festival of Brass with its performance by The Co-operative Funeralcare Band. It is an ideal concert feature for entertainment contests opening up opportunities to incorporate multi-media snippets of the associated Presidential speeches and video footage of the historic moments that the piece depicts. £75.00Peterloo Overture, Malcolm Arnold arranged for brass band by Andrew Duncan
Peterloo is the derisive name given to an incident that happened on16th August 1819 in St Peter's Fields, Manchester, when an orderly crowd of some 80,000 people met to hear a speech on political reform. On the orders of the magistrates they were interrupted by the Yeomanry, who attempted to seize the banners they carried, and to arrest their speaker, Henry Hunt. Cavalry was sent in, and eleven people were killed and four hundred injured in the ensuing panic. This overture attempts to portray these happenings. Brass Band Grade 5: 1st Section. Duration 10 minutes.

£25.00Zephyrus. March for Brass Band
Recommended - Suitable for all bands The Big Blow, was a formal record attempt to create the largest brass band in the world. It took place at Butlin's Resort, Skegness on 20 January 2007, and it's main goal was to raise money in support of the work of Brass Band Aid, and specifically to provide long-term sponsorship for two children in the village of Adet in Ethiopia. The Music Company (UK) Ltd were one of the Official Partners of The Big Blow, providing the performance piece for the record attempt. Andrew Duncan wrote 'Zephyrus' to mark the occasion. The title takes its name from the Greek God of the West Winds - Zephyrus. Zephyrus is a traditional British brass band march with an interesting African-feel lilt to the trio. This is enhanced by optional percussion instruments including djembi and bongos, which can alternatively be covered by standard drum kit. The Music Company are pleased to continue their support of Brass Band Aid by offering a donation to this worthy charity for every set of this music sold. Includes score & parts
