VIEW SCORE PDF This scintillating work will be an ideal opener to your band's concert programme. Written at the request of Bandmaster Christopher Ward and the Eastern Michigan Divisional Band of The Salvation Army (USA), it was premiered at the 2019 Autumn Praise Festival in Rochester, Michigan which featured the Eastern Michigan Divisional Band and Choir, and the Chicago Staff Band. The piece is based on the popular modern hymn by Keith and Kristin Getty and Stuart Townend, Come People of the Risen King. VIEW SCORE PDF The arranger, Kenneth Downie writes: 'This music was commissioned by Mike Griffiths, Music Director of Riviera Concert Brass, based in Torquay in Devon, England. It is developed around the hymn tune Margaret, and written in memory of the lady of that name who was a renowned supporter of, and generous donor to the band. The graceful melody was written by Timothy Matthews (1826-1910), and it is usually associated with the words of the hymn, the first verse of which says: Thou didst leave thy throne and thy kingly crown When thou camest to earth for me; But in Bethlehem's home was there found no room For thy holy nativity, O come to my heart, Lord Jesus; There is room in my heart for thee. I feel that there is a strong emotional core to this lovely tune and any performance should seek to bring out this quality, in a musical manner.' PDF download includes score and full set of parts. The music association in Rickenbach, Germany, wanted an upbeat concert work to celebrate its anniversary, as a kind of signature tune for the band. Back on Track is a spectacular composition originally written for Concert Band. Otto M. Schwarz composed an opening fanfare for the beginning, which can also be played as a short 'teaser' at festive events. A motif is treated through various rhythms and time signatures and leads to an epic finale, splendidly brought to life by the glorious timbres of the brass.

Fanfare for a New Era is the most substantial of Edward Gregson's fanfares and was the result of a private commission by Lady Sheila Stoller to celebrate the opening in April 2017 of the Stoller Hall at Chetham's School of Music, Manchester. Gregson dedicated it to Sir Norman Stoller, who donated the funding for the new concert hall. The Fanfare was designed to fill the whole space, with separate brass choirs - trumpets, horns, trombones and tuba - playing their own music. A solo trumpeter playing 'on high' announces first the four horns and timpani, who enter with a stately measure. Next the herald trumpeter ushers in trombones, tuba and drums, with a faster dance. Finally, the remaining three trumpets amplify the peeling of bells. All four elements then come together, surrounding the audience with a 'joyful noise' of festive brass and percussion.Duration: 3.00

Alpina Brass was the test piece for the first division of the Ftes Cantonales on 8 and 9 June 2019 in Naters, Switzerland. It consists of three movements, and features a variety of aspects, as is common for a competition work. However, as a whole, it has been written in such a way that it can perfectly serve as a concert work as well. It is a challenging piece for every section and offers colourful and melodic as well as spectacular rhythmic sequences and a most impressive ending!Duration: 11.00
