Commissioned for BrassFestUK 2017 & recorded by the Cory Band, the Spirit of Brass is an exciting, new energetic work that will fit perfectly into any concert, particularly as an opening item. With memorable themes, the composition takes its roots from that of John Williams' various Olympic themes that he has composed over the years. As well as this training band version, there is also a full band version of the work available for mainstream bands. The two versions work as standalone items, or can be performed side-by-side. A great new original piece for Brass Band.

The theme of the fourth movement of Handel's 'Keyboard Suite in D Minor' (the Sarabande) has been popularised across many mediums in recent years and is regularly featured on Classic FM's playlist. Whilst steady in tempo, this arrangement is a great piece for bands looking to not only feature a popular piece of classical music, but also put all sections of the band to work with regards to learning to balance chords and ensure good ensemble musicianship. £29.50A Shropshire Lad - George Butterworth - Duncan Wilson
A major concert work for band, this tone poem is based on Geroge Butterworth's song cycle of the same name, itself based on the poetry of A.E. Housman, concentrating on the very personal effects of The Great War. Butterworth himself fell at the Somme in 1916. This is the second arrangement of Butterworth's music by Duncan Wilson after The Banks of Green Willow was recorded by both Black Dyke and Rothwell. The music is intense and poignant and an ideal piece for this year's centenary of the Armistice.

BrassFesk UK is back for 2022 after a break following the pandemic and with it, comes the traditional new commission and anthem. Recorded by the European Champions, the Cory Band, this year's anthem is an arrangement of well-known UK traditional songs to coincide with the Queen's Jubilee. The work has been written in the style of Gordon Langford, one of the Brass Band world's leading arrangers and so as you expect, there are some fantastic parts to play for all areas of the band to enjoy. This foot-tapping release continues to follow the previous BrassFest UK anthems that have gone before it, ensuring a fun piece of music to both play and listen to. A perfect opener for lower section bands, 'Shining Brass' was the winning entry from the 2024 British Bandsman composition contest. The contest was run by the popular brass band media outlet to encourage new composers to create a new piece for lower section and youth bands. This special arrangement by Andrew Cook was a commission by Rob Westacott to perform with the world famous Grimethorpe Colliery Brass Band. The musical Les Miserables is the 3rd longest running show in Broadway history. The superb arrangement captures all the feelings of the original work and was given its debut performance at Parr Hall in Warrington on Saturday 27th March 2010. The work, arranged for one of the greatest cornet players, with one of the world's greatest brass bands, is a must in any cornet soloist's repertoire.

With the European Championships this Summer, the England football team's biggest ever anthem is a great feel good piece to get your audiences in the mood. With lyrics written by comedians David Baddiel and Frank Skinner, the music was composed by the rock band the Lightning Seeds. It was originally released back in 1996 to mark 'Euro 96' which was hosted in England. If your band is after that stunning opener to make a sparkling impression on either the concert or contest stage, then look no further than this perfect Irving Berlin hit. Arranged by David Holling, the song was performed by Fred Astaire in the 1935 film "Top Hat". This piece has just about everything you could want from an opening item. From Swing to Waltz's and back again, the song has now become an American classic. A fantastic standalone item that allows a band to show off and also has the potential for choreography. A great item for any concert!
