In 2009, one year after its formation, the Swiss brass ensemble Azimuts Brass commissioned its conductor, Marc Jeanbourquin, to write them a signature tune. He composed Jazzimut, which features a festive introduction followed by a lyrical theme. After a few bars of rock rhythm, Jazzimut goes disco and finishes with a recapitulation of the introduction as a fanfare. Three connected movements each with their own character. Prelude is energetic and riving, featuring highly syncopated melodies and frequent changes of key and phrase length. The central Toccata is a series of traditional cadenzas for cornet and euphonium that ends ina virtuoso duet for the two soloist and leads directly into the Fugue. The baroque-style fugue keeps breaking out into episodes of 'Swingle' bebop. Love Eternal was arranged by Gavin Lamplough for trombone virtuoso Isobel Daws to perform in a special concert with the Melbourne Staff Band to honour its Bandmaster Ken Waterworth, on the occasion of his retirement after 30 years of leading the band. The arranger uses Jarod Cooper's popular contemporary worship song King of Kings, Majesty as the basis for the work and the piece seeks to provide a vehicle for the rich timbres of the trombone to be enjoyed by the listener. COMPOSER: Van McCoy & Alicia EvelynARRANGER: Stephen JoyISMN - 0708210655941The track is a Motown inspired song recorded during his Chicago period when Jackie Wilson regained energy and started to record many singles and albums again.The track was written by Van McCoy and Alicia Evelyn.The orchestra was directed by Willie Henderson with Motown's in-house band Funk Brothers performing the instrumental track with The Andantes providing the background vocals.The single was originally a moderate chart success securing a No.34 position on the Billboard charts.Four years later, the single was released in the United Kingdom and managed to become a top 10 hit, reaching number nine.After the success of the re-release of "Reet Petite" in 1987, it was decided to posthumously re-release this track as well.The re-release hit the British top 10 again, peaking at number three in the UK Singles chart.
