Two mighty warrior elephant snails stand at the ready to do battle, both seasoned campaigners in the art of snail war, both dreaming about their own speed and grander in art of battle. The battle begins at a snail's pace, with both mighty warriors slivering towards each other, neither is paying attention of where they are sliding, only caring for their snail statues. They slide into each other and bop heads, both are knocked out! Dreaming commences with both warrior snails believing that they are fast and the Queen of Sheba's champion. They battle in a comical fashion with banter between them more so than actual fighting, still convinced that they are great warriors. They suddenly wake from their bump induced knockout and slow back down to a snail's pace. These two Yiddish Snails, alas are just slow old Yiddish Snails - never the great warriors they dreamed of.

In Europe, too, people have become acquainted with the legal wing of navy officers and the intrigues surrounding Commander Harmon "Harm" Rabb (David James Elliott) and his partner Lieutenant Colonel Sarah "Mac" MacKenzie (Catherine Bell). Both inside and outside the courtroom they fight with one major aim: winning! In their personal relationships, there's a good deal of tension too. The English version of this carol is set to the tune 'Noel'. This was adapted from an older English melody by the composer Arthur Sullivan in 1874. However, the lyrics were composed in the USA by Edmund Sears, pastor of the Unitarian Church in Wayland, Massachusetts in 1849.

Laughter In The Rain - Sedaka & Cody - Len Jenkins
In America, this was Neil Sedaka's comeback single. Whilst he had 11 Top-40 hits from 1960-1963, he could not score a hit after the British Invasion of the 60's. His fortunes were such in America that this song was at first released only in England, where it went to No. 15. However, whilst recording with 10cc in London, Sedaka reconnected with his friend Elton John who offered to put out a Sedaka single in America under his own record label, Rocket Records. Since "Laughter In The Rain" was already a hit in the UK, that was the choice, and anything with Elton John's name on it was sure to get some spins. So, later in 1974, "Laughter" was released on Rocket Records with liner notes and endorsements by Elton, and the song took off, becoming his second million-seller 12 years after his first, which was "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do."

Although the music makes technical demands on the players the piece is, nevertheless designed to involve rather than impress its audiences. There are four movements: 'Towers and Chimneys' which is both heraldic and mysterious; 'Churches: Lord of the Dance' is an arrangement of the famous shaker melody made popular in Martin Shaw's hymn of Jesus' life and history; 'Pastorale: Sunday Afternoon recalls those long and languorous days before television, and 'Coronation Day Parade' - a community celebration with a brass band at its centre.
