A Forest Symphony (Brass Band - Score and Parts)

A Forest Symphony was commissioned for the 2007 Voices in the Forest Festival, with the support of Creative Partnerships, the Forest of Dean. The first performance was given the Lydbrook Band. A Forest Symphony explores the hidden and magical world of the forest; secrets that may only be seen the animals who live there, or by fortunate ramblers who stray from the beaten path. Suitable for 1st Section Bands and above. Duration: 12.00

A Gallimaufry Suite (Score and Parts)

I - Fanfare & ThemeII - SongIII - HymnIV - Toccata & FinaleA Gallimaufry Suite consists of four movements, all thematically independent. The first movement consists of a sparkling Fanfare followed by a stately Theme which ends quietly. The second movement is a Children's Song; quirky but cute, and the Hymn which follows is a study in calm and tranquillity, featuring a quartet-group of cornet, baritone, trombone and euphonium. The last movement is a virtuosic Toccata which eventually begins to recall the other themes of the suite before a grand reprise of the first movement Theme brings the work to a dazzling conclusion.

A German Fantasy (Brass Band - Score and Parts)

A medley of German tunes, very much in the style of the famous Gordon Langford fantasies. Commissioned by Kirkbymoorside Town band for their German visit in 2015.

A Great and Mighty Wonder (Brass Band - Score and Parts)

Written for the International Staff Band to play at the Territorial Carol Concert at the Royal Albert Hall in December 2003, this is a bright selection of five Christmas carols from around the world.

A Hebridean Lullaby (Score and Parts)

Composed for World Solo Champion Katrina Marzella and the Cornwall Youth Brass Band, A Hebridean Lullaby is a beautiful and haunting melody from the pen of Philip Harper, taking its inspiration from the music and folksong of the Hebrides; a cluster of islands off the west coast of Scotland. Commissioned through a BBC Fame Academy Bursary, this piece is one which is enjoyed and admired by both performers and audiences the world over. The atmosphere created by the score is simply stunning. It's an outstanding addition to the baritone horn's concert repertoire.
