'Play that funky Music' is an unflagging classic which, since its first success in the seventies, is still often played. The exciting and stirring groove always ensures an enthusiastic atmosphere. This atmosphere can only be reached if the groove is good. At the end everyone that isn't playing can sing along.
VirtEuphonity - Jan De Maeseneer - 11'30'' - BVT020 EUPHONIUM SOLO VirtEuphonity is a virtuoso and funky solo work for euphonium and band. The work is written for Kevin Van Giel (euphonium at the Royal Band of the Air Force) and consists of three parts. The first is a charming opener that with its many notes, double tones and crazy jumps over all registers, tests the technical skills of the euphonium player. The second part is a ballad in which the double bass, drums and vibraphone play an important role. In the third part you get a funky solo with Oriental influences that finishes with the opening theme. Very difficult for the euphonium soloist!
