Fanfare For Celebration - Keiron Anderson

The original wind band version of Fanfare for a Celebration was written for the wind band of Dartington Summer School, under the direction of Paul Dummer. I created this brass version for Regent Brass Band in 2014 under the direction of Paul Archibald. I've also written versions for other brass ensembles which have been used at English Brass Academy courses. It is intended to be a short, exuberant celebration piece of moderate difficulty.

    Windjammer | Kevin Bell

This energetic piece inspired by the beauty and majesty of the sea and the great tall ships is an ideal second half opener for any concert.Windjammer begins with a pounding shuffle pattern on toms tom's in 12/8 time, this is taken up by accented lower brass played over by a forceful fanfare like melody.Feel the thrill and power of a majestic sailing ship as sails are hoisted and trimmed to 'jam' the exhilarating power of the wind.Various cross themes develop as the pace and feel changes, slowing into a melodic straight 4/4 time as the ship gently yields to the wind and glides gracefully through the water. Themes are passed through the band and the music swells into full band sections. This slower section then returns to the original 12/8 driving opening riff of the piece uncovering various short themes before building to a triple forte punchy ending.InstrumentationSoprano, Solo, Repiano, 2nd and 3rd CornetsFlugelhornSolo, 1st and 2nd Tenor Horns1st and 2nd Baritone1st, 2nd and Bass TromboneEuphoniumEb and Bb BassesPercussion parts (4):1: Timpani2: Drum kit3: Xylophone / Glockenspiel4: (Optional) Bass Drum / Tambourine / Tam Tam / Cymbal / Mark TreeISMN: 979-0-708127-05-5

The Incredibles - Michael Giacchino - Lars Erik Gudim

Michael Giacchino (1967) has become one of the great composers scoring for Film, Television and Video Games. Music in the movies "Star Trek", "Ratatoille", "Mission Impossible III", "Sin" and "The Incredibles" has come from his hand, but even more known should be the music from the Television shows "Alias" and "Lost".In "The Incredibles", music with high energy and a lot of wind players fits well. To play this music with a wind band takes good care of this intentions. The super heroes are matched with music in all dimensions. This is well taken care of in the arrangement by Lars Erik Gudim.

    Tornado - Fredrick Schjelderup

"Tornado" is based on sketches from the Royal Norwegian Naval Forces' Band (SFMK) Composer Workshop with composition students from The Grieg Aacademy in 2012. The working title of the piece, "Workshopping", reflects a young composer on "shopping" for new timbres and effects within the range of instruments and opportunities. The piece starts with a wind from afar (trills and tremolos) which then builds up in block harmony and various fragments that are processed across different keys and harmonies. Tension between chords and dissonances are then pressed up and develops the character and temperament. The title,Tornado, is selected on the basis of the energy and build up, something that can be translated with the weather phenomenon Tornado . Whirl- wind speed translates into the notation with fast tempo, tremolos and technical parts.

Song of Hope - Peter Meechan

Song of Hope is dedicated to my good friend Ryan Anthony (principal trumpet with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra) and his charity, Cancer Blows - a foundation set up to raise awareness and money to further the research that has helped give their family a hope for a future following Ryan's diagnosis of Multiple MyelomaUpon hearing the middle movement (simply titled "Song") of my cornet concerto, Milestone, Ryan asked me if I could change the end from its current reflective ending to something more uplifting, and to title it Song of Hope, giving it much more meaning than I could have ever imagined. As well as a wind band scoring without soloist, Song of Hope exists with 1, 2 or 3 soloists, accompanied by either wind band, brass band, brass ensemble or symphony orchestra. For my friend Ryan. Each set comes with the soloist part for 1 soloist. Please download the alternative 2 or 3 soloist parts from the Miscellaneous tab.

Canterbury Chorale - Jan Van der Roost

This quiet piece with its broad tones was originally written for brass band on request of Robert Leveugle, chairman of the composer's own band: Brass Band Midden Brabant (Belgium). The direct cause was a visit to the beautiful cathedral of the English city Canterbury, in which so many fine compositions sounded throughout the centuries. Later on, Jan Van der Roost rescored this piece for symphonic wind band, exploring the full richness of colours of this formation. Besides solo phrases for several instruments, there are some massive tutti passages making the wind orchestra sound like a majestic organ. By the way: an "ad libitum" organ part adds an extra richness, colour and power to this piece, making it sound even more broad and grand.
