Another World's Hell - Simon Dobson
Another World's Hell was commissioned in versions for brass, wind and fanfare bands by the Socit Cantonale des Musiques Vaudoises and the Association Cantonale des Musiques Neuchteloises for the 2013 Swiss Cantonales festivals. It is inspired by a passage in Aldous Huxley's classic 1932 science-fiction novel Brave New World, which describes in unusually close detail the music that is being played at a dance. This composition was commissioned by Hendry van Loo and written by Alfred Willering for a symphonic wind orchestra. The premiere took place during the jubilee concert celebrating the 60th anniversary of Henk van Loo Sr.'s conductorship, performed by Wilhelmina Glanerbrug under the direction of Hendry van Loo.

Casta Diva is possibly the most famous aria by Bellini. This is Norma's prayer to the moon goddess, and shows Bellini's high craftsmanship with melodies. The most famous version of this aria, was sung by Maria Callas in the 1950's, and a recording of this is still available. This is possibly the first arrangement of this tune for wind band, and will no doubt make a good impression.
