Shine (Brass Band - Score only) - Gott, Barrie
This is another work in a series of swing pieces which began in 1986 with Light-walk (F.S. 462). Shine was written to commemorate 30 years since Light-walk's conception at Star Lake Music Camp. As such, there are brief references to it within the piece. A good understanding of swing style is essential and the articulations should be observed as much as possible. The martellatos should be short and accented. This music should be played with a sense of fun and audience participation is encouraged.

Where Angels Fly was commissioned by VLAMO (Flemish Band Association). Kevin Houben wrote this work for the 2017 European Brass Band Championships in Ostend, Belgium. This is a very technical, powerful and virtuosic work with a rather fragile and soft introduction in which the main motif - derived from the Belgian composer Paul Gilson's (1865-1942) La Prire from Le Retour au Pays - is developed and also includes Houben's own musical signature 'HBE(N)'. Inchcolm is an island in the Forth estuary first visited by St Columba in 567 and mentioned in Shakespeare's Macbeth. The ruins of Columba's abbey are regularly shrouded in mist and bring with it a flavour of mystery and legend. Composer and distinguished French horn player Terry Johns (Drac to his friends) was commissioned to write this work for Superbrass and their water influenced 2nd album, Brass Taps. Drac requested that he be allowed to write a solo feature with a proper tune for horn. Kingdom Brass in Scotland premiered Inchcolm in its new brass band form and the solo part is playable by either a tenor or french horn player. Duration: 5.00. Suitable for 2nd Section Bands and above.

A Lazy Afternoon - Len Jenkins - Len Jenkins
'A Lazy Afternoon' brings to mind a lazy hot day in summer, possibly starting with a short drive out to somewhere pleasant for an afternoon's picnic. It is accepted that a drive out is now something many would choose to avoid, especially at busy weekends, but one can perhaps dream of open un-cluttered roads with no rush to get there. As such, this piece is ideal for the local summer fete. It has a gentle style that so befits an English village fete, recalling an era when things did not need to be so immediate and may thereby help to give a perfect respite from the everyday 'rush and tear'. As with many of Wobbleco's pieces, this is aimed at the average town and village band, and is within the reasonable playing capabilities of its members.

£49.95Adagio and Rondo - and Robert Childs
One of Mozart's best-loved and most performed pieces is the lively 'Rondo Alla Turca' from the Piano Sonata in A minor, K331, written in Paris in 1778. In this arrangement the Rondo is preceded by a little-known adagio, K580a, which existed previously as a fragment scored for solo clarinet and three basset horns. This completed version of the adagio is in sonata form, its main theme closely resembling Mozart's famous motet Ave verum corpus.
