A Friend I Have (Brass Band) Fendall Hill

The composer writes:'This work is a personal interpretation of the well known hymn What a Friend We Have in Jesus. This piece is autobiographical in that it reflects the friendship I have with Jesus, and some of the moods, nature and outcomes of many of those conversations. For example, the Blues section is representative of times where I present my 'blues' to him, and he turns them around. It's very personal and hard to describe the full nature of my relationship, but this music provides a good window. He is certainly my Lord, my Saviour, and my most precious friend.'PDF download includes score and full set of parts.Sheet music available from:UK - www.brassband.co.ukUSA - www.solidbrassmusic.comTo view a performance video of the work please visit:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cN-zYhdwaxMDifficulty Level: 1st Section +Instrumentation:Soprano Cornet EbSolo Cornet Bb1st Cornet Bb2nd Cornet BbFlugel Horn BbSolo Horn Eb1st Horn Eb2nd Horn Eb1st Baritone Bb2nd Baritone Bb1st Trombone Bb2nd Trombone BbBass TromboneEuphonium 1-2 BbBass EbBass BbDrum KitTemple BlocksTimbales

King Lily of the Valley (Euphonium & Baritone Feature w/Brass Band) Espen Haukas

Based on a poem by Gustaf Froding, King Lily of the Valley is a poetic and regal musical tribute to the delicate flower that, in Froding's verse, appears as a young king surrounded by both sorrow and beauty.Originally composed by David Wikander and arranged for male choir (TTBB) by Rasmus Krigstrom, this evocative work has been masterfully reimagined for brass band by Norwegian arranger and composer Espen Wallacher Haukas and created for Bjorsvik Brass's performance at Siddis Brass 2025.The brass band version retains the choral character and emotional depth of the original, weaving lush harmonies and lyrical phrasing into a rich soundscape. A deeply expressive addition to any brass band repertoire - blending Nordic choral tradition with the grandeur and warmth of the brass band sound.Scoring: Standard brass band instrumentation.(Note: Solo Cornets are marked TACET, providing a welcome opportunity for rest in longer programmes.)To view a rolling score video of the work please visit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AK5YPW4t3OoDuration: Approx. 3.30 minutesDifficulty Level: 3rd Section +This PDF download includes the full score and parts.Sheet music available at www.brassband.co.uk (UK) or https://satradecentral.org (USA)Instrumentation:1st Baritone Bb1st Euphonium Bb2nd Baritone Bb2nd Euphonium BbSoprano Cornet EbRepiano Cornet Bb2nd Cornet Bb3rd Cornet BbFlugel Horn BbSolo Horn Eb1st Horn Eb2nd Horn Eb1st Trombone Bb2nd Trombone BbBass TromboneBass EbBass BbTimpaniPercussion 1-2

Fanfare Prelude on 'Richmond' (Brass Band) Charles Wesley arr. Andrew Wainwright

Fanfare Prelude on 'Richmond' was written for the inaugural Texas Brass Fest, held at Round Top Festival Institute on 27 May 2023, for the four premier brass bands in Texas - Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio Brass Bands. It is based on the much loved hymn of the church by Charles Wesley, which is also known as 'O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing', the first verse of which reads:O for a thousand tongues to singmy great Redeemer's praise, the glories of my God and King, the triumphs of his grace! For maximum effect it is suggested that cornets and trombones are staged stood around the band, although if this is not possible then traditional band formation will be acceptable. To view a video of the premiere performance featuring the massed bands of Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antionio at Texas Brass Fest 2023, please visit www.youtube.com/watch?v=22GJM4A6mbM or the Chicago Staff Band at www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gjp8N_U9U2cPDF download includes score and full set of parts.Sheet music available from:UK - www.brassband.co.ukUSA - www.solidbrassmusic.comDifficulty Level: 2nd Section +Instrumentation:Soprano Cornet EbCornets 1-5 BbFlugel Horn BbSolo Horn Eb1st Horn Eb2nd Horn Eb1st Baritone Bb2nd Baritone Bb1st Trombone Bb2nd Trombone BbBass TromboneEuphonium BbBass EbBass BbTimpaniPercussion 1-3

Miserere mei, Deus (Brass Band) Gregorio Allegri arr. Espen Haukas

Miserere mei, Deus was composed by the Italian composer Gregorio Allegri (1582-1652) during the 1630s for use in the Sistine Chapel during matins, as part of the exclusive Tenebrae service on Wednesday and Friday of the Holy Week. The Miserere is written for two choirs, one of five and one of four voices, and is generally accepted to be one of the finest examples of Renaissance polyphony to survive to the present day. Tutti choirs sing a simple version of the original Miserere chant; one voice then, spatially separated, sings an ornamented "commentary" on this. The comment-part is left out in this arrangement due to its meaning with text, though monotonous in tune. The introduction is added by the arranger to set the right atmosphere before the original chant is played. The brass choirs are meant to be placed opposite each other in a church or large hall.To view a video of Norges Nasjonale Brassband performing the piece please visit www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrJU3lwYD9UPDF download includes score and parts.Sheet music available from:UK - www.brassband.co.ukUSA - www.solidbrassmusic.comDifficulty Level: 4th Section +Instrumentation:Brass Choir 1:Solo Cornets(incl.
