'At World's End' is the third film in the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' series. Whilst currently holding the record for the most expensive movie made at the time of release, reviews of the film were mixed and many thought it not as good as its two predecessors. However as with many films, those that have failed to impress on screen can leave behind a soundtrack that remains powerful and popular. Hans Zimmer's music for this third film pulled on the main themes used in the previous two movies with some added material. This arrangement incorporates the new themes from the film, not previously released for band and features the stunning track 'Up Is Down'. Farondole - Bizet - Alan Beaumont
This famous movement from Bizet's highly popular suite has long been a favorite with brass bands and their audiences alike. This new arrangement now includes better percussion parts (including timpani) and some lovely grace notes for Baritone and Repiano. The Cornet section is also arranged unusually as it is written for 3 players to play the Repiano part and 2 players to play the Solo Cornet line. A wonderful effect.

One of the most popular Euphonium solos in the Brass Band repertoire has now been transcribed and re-arranged for the Eb Instruments of the band. Originally arranged for Michelle Ibbotson on Soprano for Black Dyke, this transcription makes the solo perfect for Soprano Cornet, Tenor Horn or even Eb Bass. Now arranged by Adrian Horn for solo cornet and band, this release is perfect for soloists looking to perform something popular with general audiences of all ages. Stealing Apples is an old swing-tune written by Fats Waller. Performances by Benny Goodman and his big band made the song very popular. In this arrangement for brass band, the mallet percussion is very essential. Mallet Percussion presents the melody from letter A and is also featured as soli-instruments from letter L to P. These parts can alternatively be played as vibraphone solo. Please be aware of the balance at letter A. Horn and Trombones must play piano but well articulated. Letter D must sound sparkling and fresh with articulated and powerful trombones and cornets (using straight-mute). Make shue that the 8th-notes are not played too dotted two bars before letterG. Almost even 8th-notes accentuated on the start of the slur is a good tip. Watch the balance at letter H. This part have to sound homogeniously. The soloistic Soprano Cornet at letter Q must be played in the style of Benny Goodan. The accompaniment must not be too powerful from letter R to S. Best of luck with the performance!

The Tricorn - Len Jenkins - Len Jenkins
The Tricorn is a style of three-cornered hat from Europe in the 18th century, generally referred to as a 'cocked hat' in Britain and popular in America at the time of the War of Independence. It may still be seen on ceremonial occasions as part of the town-cryer's dress in England and features in a popular German song for children 'Mein Hut, der hat drei Ecken'. However, in the case of this music, the reference is to the cornet section and the requirement for triple-tonguing on the Eb Soprano cornet. Whilst ostensibly a concert march in style, its jaunty rhythm makes you want to stride along and it may therefore be used as a 'road march' as well. Pressure on the Soprano cornetist as a soloist is reduced by adding the Solo Cornets to the melody line in the 'road march' version. With this in mind, we supply the music in both A4 (concert) and A5 (march-card) sizes as a package.

The popular worship song O praise the name (Anstasis) forms the basis of this prelude. While the theme of this work is most applicable for Easter use, it could well find its place in programme and worship repertoire all year round.1345: Flugel Solo - The old rugged cross (Eiliv Herikstad)This Flugel Horn Solo (also playable by Cornet) includes chords on the soloist part so that the soloist can have improvisational freedom, or can play the written out solo.1346: March - Showers of blessing (Zachary Docter)This energetic march uses Gary Rose's melody Showers of blessing (STTL Vol.24, Pt.1).
