The latin title Sollicitus means upset or uneasy is important in terms of the character and form of the work. This work contains several different pcarts, all of them based around a fanfare-like theme which is presented several times. This theme change it's character, form, tonality, rhytmic and tension throughout the piece which triggers the turbulence of the music. Sollicitus is a commission for Midtun Skoles Musikkorps and their conductor Christian Breistein for their participation in the Norwegian Championships for School Bands in 2017. The version for Brass Band was written to Laksevag Musikkforening for their participation at the Norwegian Brass Band Championships 2018.

3 Movements for Brass Band is written with the intent to explore concise, but intention-lled musical forms. Even though each movement is a clearly dened part, there are still many similarities and unifying elements throughout. One of them can be characerized as a focus on musical initiatives that perpetually intensies the interplay between them. Furthermore, nearly all chords and melodic gestures in all the movements are based on the same three-note cell (e.g. Eb-F-Ab) in constant transposing versions. This structure of threes also nds expression in the rhythmical elements (e.g. in the lightly syncopated gures in the opening of the second movement). Lastly, there is also a signal in snare drum and whip, that ends each movement.

"Variations for Brass Band" consists of a chorale and 5 variations of brilliant, lyric and humorous character. The piece also contains several soloparts and elements of ensemble.Each variation has its own title, but the piece should be played in its entirity.The chorale is based on a minor pentachord, and each variation begins with these five notes, with different rhythmical treatment.There is also a little secondary "theme", consisting of five notes which are heard throughout the work (eg. as sixteens/semiquavers in cornets in bar 1).When the beams sweep across the Earth, they can be heard as regular pulses. We call them pulsars.In this piece there are three percussion parts. In addition there is an "optional part" to replace the marimba and vibraphone written in the three original percussion parts if desired. This fourth part is shown in the full score.

Title: Hymne A L'Amour Composers: Marguerite Monnot & Edith Piaf Arranger: Andrew Duncan Instrumentation: Brass Band Publisher: Musikverlag Frank Description An arrangement of the beautiful French song Hymne A L'Amour arranged for brass band by Andrew Duncan This arrangement was originally sung by Edith Piaf then Josh Groban and more recently by Celine Dion in a memorable performance on the Eiffel Tower at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The Cooperation Band conducted by Katrina Marzella played this arrangement at Brass in Concert 2025 as the finale of their winning performance and was an audience favourite. It has been much shared on social media and can also be streamed on World Of Brass Play. The arrangement for brass band can be played with and without a marimba. £42.00The Golden Carol. Arranged for brass band by Lynda Nicholson
Arranged for brass band by by Lynda Nicholson The Golden Carol is a traditional Old English Christmas Carol. The words tell of the Three Kings following the Star to Bethlehem to see Jesus on Christmas morning. The tune is anonymous, but has a medieval feel, similar to other carols, such as I Saw three Ships. The Golden Carol begins in a 5/4 jazz waltz rhythm with a solo Eb Bass being joined a few bars later by by a solo trombone then a solo horn, before more instruments (including percussion) are added and the tune plays out in the cornets and soprano cornet. The second section goes into 4/4 with a strong Rock/Big Band feel driven along rhythmically by the kit drummer. This section then leads to a rousing close for the full band. Arranged for brass band by Lynda Nicholson Patapan is a French Christmas Carol written by the French composer, Bernard de la Monnoye (1641-1720). The words are written from the perspective of the Shepherds in Bethlehem, playing their drums and flutes at the birth of Jesus. " Patapan" mimics the sound of the drums and the scale passages on the the flutes. Patapan begins with a solo side drummer playing a punchy rhythm in 2/2 with a tambourine being added before this rhythm underpins the melody played by the full band. A section featuring the trombones follows before the main theme returns after which a short duet for Euphonium and flugal leads into a rousing final section with a Rock feel. This final section has the full band playing with the tunes in the cornets, a fast quaver movement in the middle of the band and cleverly, the melody in counterpoint in augmentation played by the trombones. Silent Night is an Austrian Christmas Carol written by Franz Gruber, (1787-1863). Franz Gruber was an primary school teacher, organist and composer who lived in the village of Arndorf in Austria. Silent Night (Stille Nacht) has become one of the best loved Christmas Carols ever written. This arrangement for brass band imagines Christmas morning in a small Austrian village, such as Arndorf, with the sound of the local church bells ringing out along with the sound of a choir singing Silent Night accompanied by the local band.. The arrangement features the tubular bells playing a simple descending scale, which is also played by muted cornets (2nd and 3rd cornets). After 2 verses of the hymn the coda features a short trombone trio with a jazzy feel which leads into a final scale from the tubular bells and cornets bringing the piece to a peaceful close.
