When Benny Borg made his comeback with the new album, "Den storste reisen" in 2016, he wrote some of the strongest songs of his career. Root Beer Rag was written for the 1974 album release Streetlife Serenade by American pianist/vocalist/composer Billy Joel. After the success his own recording, several other pianists have performed it both on record and stage. There's also many arrangements of the song made, some of them featuring soloist(s). This arrangement for Brass Band by Svein H. Giske was written to Askoy Brass Band for their participation in the entertainment-competition Siddis Brass in 2016. It's very virtuosic and challenge almost all sections of the band.

Sunday People is the title track from the debut album with the same name from the group The Monroes. The LP was released in 1983 and the Sunday People immediately became a huge hit. The Monroes was the first artists in Norway to receive the NorwegianYear Grammy Spellemannsprisen.Members of The Monroes was guitarist Eivind Rolles and singer Lage Fossheim. Both of them passed away in 2013, only 54 and 55 years old. The music lives on and many dearly remembers the track Cheerio (1985) inheavily reworked version from 2005 when Rolles and Fossheim collaborated with Ravi and DJ Lov.

Sunday in the Park was written for tenor horn virtuoso Sheona White, and commissioned by her partner, Matt Wade, as a Christmas present.Composer Philip Sparke had known and admired Sheona's playing for many years, having produced her first solo CD and written pieces for her previously.Both composer and performer are huge fans of the late Karen Carpenter, Sheona in part modelling her sound on the singer's sultry voice; so it was decided that this new solo would be a piece which, whilst not being a 'Carpenters' pastiche, paid tribute to their relaxed style and rich harmonic language. Sunday in the Park openswith an accompanied cadenza for the soloist, which leads to a gentle rhythmic melody with a laid-back feel. This is taken up by the band but the soloist sparks a change of mood by introducing a faster light rock interlude. This reaches a climax, at which point the music unwinds until the original mood returns.A variation on the original melody leads to a short cadenza from the soloist, which brings the work to a peaceful close.
