Carol Of The Bells - Leontovich - Graham Boag

For bands looking to deliver an energetic performance over the festive season, look no further. Though previously well catalogued, the work became known more widely around the globe thanks to its use in John Williams' score to 'Home Alone'. This arrangement by Graham Boag allows all sections of your band to shine and enjoy the music that is marked 'Con Energico!'. At around two minutes in duration, this item works great as an attention grabbing piece, perfect as an opener to either half, or indeed an encore not to be missed!

Friend Like Me - Alan Menken - Karl Whelan

Originally sang by Robin Williams in the 1992 animated film Aladdin, Friend Like Me is high octane fun for all the band to play as well as the soloist. This highly entertaining work will get feet tapping as the organised chaos of the music flows around the soloist throughout the duration of the piece. The arrangement stays faithful to the original and with Disney's re-release of Aladdin coming next month with Will Smith in the starring Genie roll, this new fun filled solo is the perfect solo choice for all bands this year.

    We Three Gypsy Kings

Duration: 4:00 Minutes Percussion: 4 PlayersTimpani, Drum Kit, Tambourine, Bongos and XylophoneAll Rights ReservedProgramme NotesThis is a true storyI had a dream…..The three wise men were looking for the baby Jesus to give him their gifts. This was done somewhat in the manner of the scene of Monty Python’s ‘Life of Brian’. The search was not successful – Sir Alan Sugar (‘The 'Apprentice’) made an appearance ordering the three wise men to “get off my land”. Meanwhile, the baby Jesus slept peacefully on, unaware of the nearby disturbance. Bizarrely, this dream sequence was played out at high speed, as in the closing scene from each episode of ‘The Benny Hill Show’ of the 1970s.My arrangement attempts to portray this comical caper.Jock McKenzieJock McKenzie studied trumpet at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester where he was a joint recipient of the college’s concerto prize. Since 1987 Jock has based his musical career in Hampshire, working as a freelance trumpeter, conductor, composer, arranger and brass teacher. Currently Jock holds the position of Professional Leader (Brass) for Hampshire Music Service and is the Director of the Hampshire County Youth Band.
