This celebratory work by American composer William Gordon is a rhythmic play on two well known carols - Hark! The Herald Angels Sing and Angels, We Have Heard On High! VIEW SCORE PDF O Holy Night, also known as Cantique de Noel, was originally based on a poem by Placide Cappeau before being set to music by Adople Adam. This carol has become a favourite to many, being performed all over the world in various styles and forms. This jazz-style arrangement for flugel horn and brass band was written for John Docter for The Salvation Army's Night of Wonder Carol Service in Los Angeles. £63.60Temperamental (Brass Band) Fendall Hill
This work by Fendall Hill was the set test for the 2021 National Brass Band Championships of New Zealand, B Grade. The composer writes: 'J.S. Bach (1685-1750) is deemed by many to be the 'Ulimate Composer'. He added an incredible proportion to the DNA of western music, and his influence is heard in the music of today. Like many artists, he was not overly recognised as a composer during his lifetime, and it took an 1829 performance of the St Matthew Passion by Mendelssohn to ignite a recognition of his place in the music world, a place he has maintained ever since. This piece starts with a similar spark of rediscovery of the music of Bach. It contains arrangements of various works, interspersed with composition based on Bach's chord structures, sections in the style of Bach, and original sections inspired by the moods created along the way. The first section explores the Toccata, and great organ works. This leads into an exploration of his choral works, and a finale based on the Preludes. The word 'Tempered' has different meanings, and all seem to apply to the music of Bach, and these appeal to the musical, engineering and spiritual aspects of my personal life. His music reaches to the humanity and divinity, it has strength, structure and order that creates frameworks in which incredible complexity reigns; and the complexity leads to a wildness, a kind of craziness that represents a range of human moods, and can change without warning. The same piece of music affects people in very different ways. I don't know if it's Bach's music, or us, but it can seem out of control and under control at the same time - the combination is highly temperamental. This piece is autobiographical in that it reflects the friendship I have with Jesus, and some of the moods, nature and outcomes of many of those conversations. For example, the Blues section is representative of times where I present my 'blues' to him, and he turns them around. It's very personal and hard to describe the full nature of my relationship, but this music provides a good window. He is certainly my Lord, my Saviour, and my most precious friend.' Trumpet Tune and Air - Clarke, Purcell - Len Jenkins
Wobbleco Music is pleased to offer a new arrangement of the famous 'Trumpet Tune in D' for full brass band featuring a soprano cornet solo. The tune is often attributed to Henry Purcell, but in fact was the result of a joint musical production by Jeremiah Clarke and Daniel Purcell (Henry Purcell's younger brother), hence the confusion. For bands that do not have a soprano cornet player, we also include an alternative solo part written for Bb cornet. To complement this, we also include a soprano cornet part in Eb, for use when the band has a soprano player but who is not the featured soloist. Recognising its popularity for weddings and special occasions, where a full band may be impractical for space or availability reasons, we have also produced a quintet edition, which is available as a separate publication from Wobbleco Music.

Hope is a deeply reflective and uplifting work for brass band, shaped by themes of serenity, renewal, and spiritual hope. Composer Nathanael Watchorn revisits a melody and harmonic framework originally conceived for an unrealised project - material that, even at its inception, carried the gentle strength and stillness of a benedictory chorus. Sensing its innate sense of calm and assurance, Watchorn sought to give the music new life through words that would illuminate its emotional core. Those words came from his father, Major Julian Watchorn, whose poetic text - titled Benediction: The Hope of Christ - speaks of grace, love, joy, and the sustaining power found in Christ. The verses provide a clear spiritual lens through which conductors, performers, and listeners alike can experience the music. Whether heard as a musical benediction or a stand-alone concert work, Hope provides a meaningful and deeply moving moment of stillness amid the noise of modern life.
