This march was written in 1919 by Norways own March King Oscar Borg (1851-1930).He was born in the town of Halden in the southeast of Norway and received his education at the Royal Academy in Stockholm, Sweden.Upon his return to Halden he became a driving force in the towns musical life in several respects. He conducted choirs, amateur bands and played the organ in church.Borg was also the conductor of 1. Brigades Musikkorps (today The Norwegian Wind Ensemble) from 1881 to 1918.His significance for the Norwegian military bands and their repertoire is unquestionable.He wrote over 60 marches and he played several instruments; the violin, flute, cornet and the organ.This arrangement was written for Askoy Brass Band in 2021.Svein H. The music for this great film was written by different composers and the soundtrack was recorded by various well-known artists, such as the Bee Gees. Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741) stands, with Handel and J.S. Bach, as one of the titanic figures of late Baroque composition. Not only was he lauded as a composer of vocal and instrumental works both sacred and secular, he was without doubt, the most prolific composer of his age. In addition to hundreds of vocal works, including forty-nine operas, he composed five hundred concertos. The Four Seasons are probably the best known of his concerti with the second movement, Largo, portraying time spent by a roaring fire listening to the rain pounding against the window. This new arrangement for brass band retains all the warmth of the original.

Elgar's five Pomp and Circumstance Marches were written between 1901 and 1930 with number 1 undoubtedly being the most popular of the five.King Edward VII told Elgar that the tune would 'go round the world' if words were fitted to it. Elgar took the hint and included it (with slight rhythmic changes) in his Coronation Ode of 1902, with words by A. C. Benson.Thus was born Land of Hope and Glory which is now, of course, an integral part of the annual Last Night of the Proms, when the audience (with varying degrees of success!) sing the words along to the original march.
