Moon River Cha Cha was arranged to be part of Cory Band's winning set from Brass in Concert 2016 which was entitled; 'The Remarkable Life of Roald Dahl'. The centenary of Dahl's birth in Wales was celebrated in 2016, and this piece comes from the 1961 film Breakfast at Tiffany's which starred Dahl's first wife, Patricia Neal. The easy-listening style of the music portrays the glamour and glitz of Roald Dahl's immediate post-war life in the USA.

£105.00Handel in the Band - Kenneth Downie
Handel in the Band is a virtuoso set of symphonic variations on one of Handel's best known keyboard dances, the Sarabande from his Suite in D minor, HWV 437, based on the Spanish traditional dance La Folia. Kenneth Downie's work was commissioned by Brass Band Treize Etoiles, for performance at the 2013 Swiss National Brass Band Championships, where it was conducted by James Gourlay. The title is a reference to Percy Grainger's popular Handel in the Strand, and is indicative of the witty and theatrical nature of the music, which is more playful than conventional competition pieces and as such offers different challenges to brass bands as well as beingthoroughly entertaining for audiences. Kenneth Downie is one of the most respected and experienced brass band composers. His music has been widely performed and published throughout the brass band world since the 1960s.

Firefly was composed by award-winning composer Simon Dobson (b.1981) to provide an entertaining up-tempoconcert work for community and youth bands. Composed in funk-rock style, and is based on the groove beat with which it opens. Dobson says, "Firefly was written as a break from my more serious music and as a 'hat tip' to the various types of beat orientated music I listen to." Paul Yoder is one of the big names in the history of American wind band music. He was a pioneer in teaching the developing youth bands in the USA and by spreading the modern wind band music repertoire throughout Japan. He wrote over 200 works for symphonic band. 'Dutch Treat' was composed in the early seventies and immediately published in 1971 by Molenaar, a personal friend of Paul Yoder. It is an original arrangement of a traditional tune.
