Ole Olsen (4 July 1850 - 4 November 1927) was a Norwegian organist, composer, conductor and military musician. Originally written for piano, this lovely, tender lullaby has been arranged by Tom Brevik for brassband and four solo instruments: Cornet, Flugel, Tenor Horn and Euphonium. Ole Olsen (4 juli 1850 - 4 november 1927) was een Noors componist, organist, dirigent en militaire muzikant. Oorspronkelijk geschreven voor piano,werd dit mooie, tedere slaapliedje gearrangeerd door Tom Brevik voor brassband en 4 solo instrumenten: Cornet, Flugel, Hoorn en Euphonium.

£127.30Stealing Apples - Fats Waller - Reid Gilje
Stealing Apples is an old swing-tune written by Fats Waller. Performances by Benny Goodman and his big band made the song very popular. In this arrangement for brass band, the mallet percussion is very essential. Mallet Percussion presents the melody from letter A and is also featured as soli-instruments from letter L to P. These parts can alternatively be played as vibraphone solo. Please be aware of the balance at letter A. Horn and Trombones must play piano but well articulated. Letter D must sound sparkling and fresh with articulated and powerful trombones and cornets (using straight-mute). Make shue that the 8th-notes are not played too dotted two bars before letterG. Almost even 8th-notes accentuated on the start of the slur is a good tip. Watch the balance at letter H. This part have to sound homogeniously. The soloistic Soprano Cornet at letter Q must be played in the style of Benny Goodan. The accompaniment must not be too powerful from letter R to S. Best of luck with the performance!

Je te veux, or I Want You, is a valse chantee (sung waltz) by the French composer Erik Satie, with lyrics by Henry Pacory. It was written for Paulette Darty, who first sang it in 1903 at La Scala, Paris, with Satie accompanying. There are various versions that Satie produced, the original for piano and voice, a version for brass 'orchestra', for full orchestra (where a trio section was added), and a version for solo piano (but including the new trio section). This arrangement is for the UK-style brass band, with alternative parts for horns in F and bass-clef lower brass, and is of the longer version (with the trio section). As a result, it lends itself to being performed in a various of ways, with the ensemble has the option of selecting the part of it compound ternary form to play: (A-B-A)(C-D-C)(A-B-A). Le Tombeau de Couperin (The Grave of Couperin) was written by Maurice Ravel between 1914 and 1917, originally a suite of piece for solo piano. Based on what was considered a traditional Baroque suite, Ravel wanted to pay homage to Baroque French keyboard music, whilst retaining his 20th-century chromaticism, making the work neoclassicist. Each movement is dedicated to the memory of a friend of the composer who died fighting in World War I. Ravel produced an orchestral version in 1919, omitting two of the original six movements. The Menuet was written in memory of Jean Dreyfus; Ravel had recuperated at his home. This piece means exactly that - to get moving. I was experimenting at the piano at school one morning waiting for my first students and this little ditty came to mind. £33.92Bagatelle No.25 in A Minor - Fur Elise (Brass Band) Beethoven arr. Olaf Ritman
Perhaps the most well-known piano piece by Ludwig van Beethoven, Bagatelle No. 25 in A Minor (written around 1810) is better known under its subtitle 'Fur Elise'. Even to this day it is still unknown who Elise was, with at least four theories claiming to tell the story. It might have been one of Beethoven's students or Therese Malfatti, a young lady who got much attention from him. The theory is that Beethoven's autograph Ludwig Nohl could not decipher his handwriting and might have read Elise instead of Therese. Nevertheless the piece has become extremely popular over the last two centuries and is often the very first real classical piece a beginner pianist goes to. Many classical pieces have been transcribed in contemporary fashion for brass bands in recent times, with Toccata in D Minor by J.S. Bach arranged by Ray Farr being the most popular and more recently Vivaldi's first part of Winter from The Four Seasons arranged by Philip Harper. This arrangement of Fur Elise fits in this series perfectly and seeks to bring a smile to its listeners. The last two bars are a direct tribute to Ray Farr's aforementioned arrangement of Toccata. One of Sergei Rachmaninoff's most famous compositions, Prelude in C-sharp minor (Op. 3, No. 2) is part of a set of five pieces entitled Morceaux de fantaisie. It was written when Rachmaninoff was only 19 years old and was first performance by the composer on 26 September 1892 at a festival called the Moscow Electrical Exhibition. This arrangement is for the UK-style brass band, with alternative parts for horns in F and bass-clef lower brass. The piece has been transposed from the original (for piano) of C-sharp minor to A minor, which better suits a brass band. There is another arrangement of this piece by Sandy Smith (published by Obrasso) which is designed for more advanced ensembles.
