£59.95Swedish Festival Music (Brass Band - Score and Parts)
This three-movement suite was commissioned by the Swedish Brass Band Association as the test piece for the Championship Section of their 2008 National Contest. The first movement is inspired by the magnificent Swedish hymn 'How Great Thou Art'. Indeed the influence of that hymn can be traced in all three movements. The declamatory style of the opening gives way to other, more reflective expressions of awe and wonder. A more animated section develops before a final, triumphant statement of the 'How Great' idea returns to finish the movement. The slow second movement features another much-loved Swedish hymn. The music provides plenty of scope for expressive playing, and a feeling of intimacy should be created by the use of several short solo passages. The third movement Allegro brings a totally different, dance-like mood with frequent references to a reel from the region of Uppland. This eventually brings a return to the opening subject and a final, triumphant reference to 'How Great Thou Art'.

£29.88Breathe on me, breath of God (Brass Band) Robert Jackson arr. Andrew Wainwright
Andrew Wainwright's sensitive setting of Breathe on Me, Breath of God was commissioned by Sione Malekamu Manu Jr for the 2026 Tonga Secondary School Music Festival, in memory of the late Sione Malekamu Manu. The piece offers a reflective yet powerful treatment of Edwin Hatch's beloved 1878 hymn. Set across two contrasting verses, the arrangement traces a spiritual journey from quiet contemplation to triumphant exaltation. The first verse opens with delicate textures and warm, blended tone, allowing the familiar melody - traditionally set to Robert Jackson's tune Trentham - to emerge with serene simplicity. Building seamlessly through a transitional passage, the setting broadens into a majestic second verse, celebrating the transformative power and majesty of the divine spirit. Concise yet profoundly moving, this arrangement showcases both the lyrical sensitivity and majestic power inherent to the traditional brass band. £33.62Excursion (Brass Band) Christopher Cook
Excursion was the winner of the 2022 BrookWright International Brass Band Composition Competition. The composer Christopher Cook writes: 'In this short and effervescent study for brass band, I wanted to take the listener and players on a journey which moves from a soundworld of bristling, bubbling energy to a triumphant fanfare and finally a moment of repose. The initial fast flurry of notes, highlighted and emphasised by precise elements of percussion, informs the motivic development of the rest of the piece and eventually forms the basis for the textural backdrop to the filmic sounding melody heard around halfway through the piece. The unexpected final passage is intended to be a nod to works for brass band by Paul Patterson and Harrison Birtwistle.' £37.35Horn Concerto No.1 1st Movement (Tenor Horn Solo with Band) Haydn arr. Wilson
Franz Joseph Haydn's Horn Concerto No.1 in D major was composed in 1762, when he was new to the Esterhazy court. It is a virtuosic concerto that showcases the beauty and range of the horn. The concerto was originally scored for solo horn and orchestra, and is one of Haydn's most popular works. Here it has been arranged by Duncan Wilson for tenor horn with brass band. His arrangement of the concerto is a faithful and effective adaptation of the original work. The movement opens with a lively tutti introduction, followed by the entrance of the solo horn. The horn plays a series of melodies and passages that are both lyrical and virtuosic. The band provides accompaniment and contrast, and the two interact in a lively dialogue. The movement builds to a climax and then concludes with a triumphant coda. £44.83Illuminate - Brass Band (Andrew Wainwright)
Written for the Chicago Staff Band's tour of England in 2015, this exhilaratingwork was premiered at The Salvation Army's Boundless International Congress at London's O2 Arena to an audience of 20,000 people. The piece is structured as a through-composed triptych, weaving together the popularcontemporary worship songs Shine on Us (Michael W. Smith) and Speak, O Lord (Keith and Kristin Getty) with the historic Salvationist anthem The World for God (Evangeline Booth) to explore themes of light, guidance, and mission. The work opens with energy and rhythmic drive, centering on Shine on Us. A stark contrast follows in the meditative middle section. Here, the music explores the contemplative depths of Speak, O Lord, featuring the solo horn. The final section introduces a nostalgic and stirring reference to General Evangeline Booth's classic hymn, The World for God. The finale juxtaposes all three themes. As the disparate melodies intertwine and layer upon one another, the music builds to a triumphant climax - a representation of 'illumination' that celebrates a shared faith across generations.
