Busy Line - Murry Semos - Gavin Somerset
Originally a hit for Rose Murphy before being re-recorded by Peter Skellern on his 1982 album "A String Of Pearls", this arrangement is based on the Skellern recording which has a 'trad-jazz' feel throughout. The piece gives your band a chance to show off the soloists, including solo cornet, flugel, solo horn, solo trombone & bass section (however an optional cut is included which removes the soloists section). You may also remember the piece from the BT television adverts in 1990 with its unique use of the 'brr brr brr' sound! This publication needs very little introduction as it has, for over thirty years, been a firm favourite across the globe as one of the stand out numbers from the musical, 'Les Miserables'. This festive number sees an original theme from the pen of Gavin Somerset interspersed with festive favourites that seem to appear in an unfamiliar manner. There is plenty of Christmas spirit to be found in this work and will see your percussion section taking the limelight. £25.50Coconut Dance - Traditional - Andi Cook
The Rochdale coconut dance is a traditional Morris dance, often used by the dancers who accompany the rush-cart during the Rochdale rushbearing festival. It probably dates from the 1850s, and though the dancers were said to have half a coconut shell on each knee and in each hand, the term 'coconut' is also used as local slang for the wooden end of a wool bobbin, so nobody can be sure if they were always real coconuts. Written for the Milnrow band's 150th birthday celebrations (1869-2019) this arrangement uses a combination of Caribbean rhythms and a disco groove for a modern take on an old favourite that's impossible to sit still to. Enormously catchy, great fun to play and with something for everyone to enjoy, your audiences will be whistling this one all the way home.

Fanfare & Funk - Sam Fisher
This original work for brass band is the perfect choice to open a concert of contest programme. At just over three minutes, the music is in two clear sections, depicting the contrasting styles of traditional fanfare and modern funk. After a flourishing fanfare opening, the Cornets and Trombones lead a verse of the opening motif, accompanied by a rhythmically diminished version of the same motif from the Euphoniums and Baritones. This ostinato then leads us into a great entertaining funk section, with each section of the band rising to their feet as the piece builds to an exciting finale that is sure to engage audiences of all ages!

£29.50Icelandic Hymn - Thorkell Sigurbjornsson - Neil Brownless
Based on a poem written in 1208 by chieftain Kolbeinn Tumason on his death bed, the title translates as 'Hear, Smith of Heavens'. It has become one of the most popular hymns in Iceland and has recently been used in the TV series Handmaid's Tale. The music also went viral following an impromptu performance by a choir at a German train station, accumulating over 4 million views. This arrangement brings something totally different to your concerts with an atmospheric setting for brass band, featuring the flugel horn in the opening and closing bars over sung chords from the rest of the band.
