This exciting new 22-minute concert suite for Brass Sextet has been composed during the months of lockdown charting the feelings of a nation, with seven movements playable by 6 (or more) players. The music was composed with the intention for players to perform either together live in a small group, in isolation by way of a virtual performance (downloadable backing tracks are available to play along to) and ultimately, to give players something to enjoy as we all miss our brass band families. This concert suite is the perfect addition to all bands' libraries at a time when rehearsals are limited. Several of the movements are already in preparation for a full band edition to be released at a later date: (also available as a digital download worldwide - purchase now & print to play). Bands purchasing this sextet edition will be eligible for a discount on the upcoming full brass band edition of the concert suite. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Movement 1: FANFARE: The Call of the Band - CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD PLAYBACK TRACK This opening fanfare gives way to a full of life and energy. With catchy melodies and harmonies, it is an effective opening to any concert programme and the perfect way to begin the Suite. Movement 2: March of the Antibodies - CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD PLAYBACK TRACK A cheeky little number that keeps on fighting though. Whilst not a March in the traditional brass band sense, players should aim to give a 'happy' performance of this movement ensuring smiles all around for both performers and the audience.Movement 3: Solidarity - CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD PLAYBACK TRACK The first slow movement of the concert suite aims to reflect on the isolation many of us felt during the time of lockdown. However, during these times, walks out with loved ones allowed many to connect and enjoy downtime, not often afforded to many. Movement 4: Lazy Days - CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD PLAYBACK TRACK A movement whose title really does say it all. A laid back swing number that should be played in an as relaxed manner, as possible!Movement 5: Hymn for Carers (Dedicated to the NHS & Care Workers) - CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD PLAYBACK TRACK Dedicated to the NHS & Care Workers, this hymn tune is filled with emotional highs and lows, felt by many of the hospital and care staff who worked tirelessly to keep our people safe, with a timely nod at the end to Vera Lynn & our missed VE day commemorations. Movement 6: Army of the Keyworkers - CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD PLAYBACK TRACK A stirring work in 12/8 which rightfully, depicts our heroes who kept the country moving through the most difficult of times. An heroic number for players to enjoy.Movement 7: CELEBRATION: Return of the Band - CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD PLAYBACK TRACK Little needs to be said about this movement, as at this time of release, we cannot yet celebrate the return of all players to the band rooms across the country. However, when that time comes, this movement is to be played with the joy of normality we shall all feel. 550: March - Century of celebration (Stephen Smith)This march follows a traditional pattern and should be accessible for most bands. It was written for the 100th anniversary of Camp Gifford in Loon Lake, Washington, therefore included are well-known songs with references to water as the camp is located on the shores of Deer Lake.551: Going Home (Alan Williams)Richard Jukes' song I'm a soldier bound for Glory (S.A.S.B. 856) displays the confidence of someone with a steadfast faith who is certain that by loving and serving their God they will be accepted into his Kingdom. This assurance results in a joyful song of testimony. Whilst not a direct setting of the five verses, the dance-like rhythm of this cha-cha should reflect the positive and encouraging nature of the lyrics and be full of joy and spirit.552: Whosoever will may come (Noel Jones)This is a two-verse arrangement of the song Whosoever will may come (S.A.S.B. 405), with words written by William John McAlonan and music composed by Alfred Braine. This song is included in the Invitation and Challenge section of the song book. The arrangement should be played in a spirited style.553: March - Sing a praise of celebration (Marcus Venables)This music was written at the request of the Singapore Central Corps Band, who asked that the work be based on two specific meaningful melodies. The first is To the Glory and Praise of God by Robert Redhead, a tune rooted in corporate worship and joyful proclamation, calling God's people to lift their voices in thanksgiving. The other is Home, a beloved Singaporean song that speaks of belonging.

1379: March - True to the colours (Noel Jones)This march is a reminder of the symbolism of The Salvation Army flag - blue representing God's purity, red for the blood of Christ and yellow for the fire of the Holy Spirit. I love the dear old Army flag, I'll be true and Yellow star and red and blue are three songs featured where writers have been equally inspired and have made declaration of their allegiance to God by service in The Salvation Army.1380: In all its fullness (Alan Williams)This music was written for the East of England Youth Summer School in 2024, where the delegates explored the theme 'Living life in full colour with Jesus' and as such this work is a joyous and fun-filled celebration of all the good things God has provided.1381: Eternal Spring (Nick Simmons-Smith) This simple hymn tune arrangement is based on the tune Martyrdom which is associated with the words 'As pants the heart for cooling streams'. It is a Scottish tune written around 1800 by Hugh Wilson.1382: March Medley - Emblems of service (Stephen Bulla)This march celebrates the occasion of the Coorparoo Corps' reunion (now Carindale Corps, Australia) in 2022. The music itself features a spirited medley: Joy! joy! joy! there is joy in The Salvation Army, What a friend we have in Jesus and Steadily forward march!

Trevithick (2013) is a march for brass band, written on the occasion of Camborne's 30th Trevithick Day celebration which saw six Cornish brass bands parade through the streets one after the other, performing the work. Structured as any traditional march is with the bass solo forming the central section, the work is formed from both existing Cornish tunes such as Trelawny and Camborne Hill, as well as original material.

No.1219 March Medley - Heavenward (William Gordon)A variety of songs are used in this up-tempo march medley which potrays the celebration of a life looking forward to an eternity in Heaven. The tunes used are 'When we all get to Heaven', 'When the roll is called up yonder' and 'We shall win'.No.1220 Garden of my heart (Terry Camsey)The publication of this music is, in a small part, a fitting tribute to Major Terry Camsey who was Promoted to Glory in June 2011. The title is taken from the refrain from a much-loved Sidney Cox song; 'Jesus, Jesus, Lily of the valley, Bloom in all thy beauty in the garden of my heart'.No.1221 My life, my all (Andrew Mackereth)This selection attempts to emphasise the personal nature of Christian commitment hence the emphasis given to the words 'my' and 'I' in the songs chosen. The tunes 'Rockingham', 'All I have I am bringing to thee' and 'At thy feet I bow adoring' are included.No.1222 Tenor Horn Solo - You love me (Brian Willetts arr. Paul Sharman)This arrangement was made at the request of David Lynch, Solo Horn player in The International Staff Band. Originally published in April 1993, the song speaks of the fact that, despite the wonder and vastness of God's creation, he still loves each one of us individually.

Omaggio was commissioned by Steven Mead in celebration of his 60th birthday and in memory of his father, Rex. He gave the premiere of the brass band version in Rome in March 2022, accompanied by the Italian Brass Band conducted by Filippo Cangiamilla. The concert band premiere took place on 6th July that year as part of the 2022 Spanish International Tuba Euphonium Conference, accompanied by the Banda municipal de musica de Malaga. The concerto is set in 3 continuous movements, which are united by a recurring syncopated interval of a fifth. The first movement, FANTASIA, opens with this motive accompanying an extended monologue for the soloist. This is followed by a lengthy bridge passage by the band (piano), which is eventually joined by the soloist, who guides the music back to the opening soliloquy, leading to an energetic central section. This develops until the opening material again returns to introduce the second movement, BALLAD, which revolves around an expressive melody for the soloist, interspersed by accompanied cadenzas. The third movement, THE KING TRIUMPHANT, pays homage to Steven's late father, Rex, and its title alludes both to Rex's name ('Rex' being Latin for 'king') as well as his love of Eric Ball's Salvationist masterpiece, The Kingdom Triumphant. The finale is an energetic tour-de-force featuring an acrobatic 6/8 melody, which is interrupted twice by the magnificent hymn tune, Helmsley, which Ball uses so effectively in The Kingdom Triumphant. A galloping coda brings the work to a close.
