VIEW SCORE PDF This trumpet solo was written by Nick Simmons-Smith at the request of Dallas Brass Band for a Christmas concert featuring Elmer Churampi, international trumpet soloist. The solo features three Christmas songs: i. Mi Burrito Sabanero voy camino de Belen (With my donkey of the Savannah, I'm going to Bethlehem) ii. Noche de paz (Silent night) iii. Campana Sobre Campana (Bell above bells, O bells of Bethlehem) These songs are all very popular in Central and South America - including Peru, where Elmer Churampi is originally from. Each tune has been given a different Latin treatment producing a fast-slow-fast festive concert solo. The solo is not long, but each movement could be played individually. COMPOSER: Santiago LopeARRANGER: Ron GlynnBrass Band Sheet Music - Full Score and PartsProgramme NotesPasodoble for Brass BandThe newspapers of Valencia requested that Santiago Lope compose a pasodoble for a featured bullfight to be held at the local plaza de toros on June 29, 1905. Outdoing himself, he wrote not one, but four Pasodobles, one for each featured matador. These were: "Dauder" for Agustin Dauder, "Angelito" for Angel Gonzalez, "Vito" for Jose Manuel Perez and above all his masterpiece "Gallito" ("The little Cock") for Jose "Joselito" Gomez Ortega. As bullfighters often use nicknames in Spain, he used these popular names for most of the titles. Among the toreros featured in Valencia, "Joselito" Gomez Ortega was the most outstanding bullfighter, as he is "...comunmente aceptado como major torero de todos los tiempos" accepted as "most famous torero of all times" in Spain.LM498ISBN : 9790570004980

Excuse me, may I play along? Could you step aside, please? 'Step Aside' is a pleasant competition both between two tempi and among the different parts. After a short, slow introduction it is the drummer who, without asking the questions above, sets the high pace. As soon as this rapid movement has been established, 'part 1' takes the lead, but the other parts obviously don't want to miss a thing and follow in rapid succession. At the end of the composition the various parts 'compete' in order to be able to play solo for a while, but soon others join in again, asking 'Excuse me, may I play along?'

This is a traditional New Zeland Folk Melody circa 1820 - 1830. From 1833 onwards, the Wellermen, on ships owned by Weller Brothers of Sydney, supplied provisions to New Zealand shore whaling stations from their base at Otakou. This melody has been arranged by Joseph Knight for full brass band with Drum Kit and Glockenspiel. It is written for fourth section bands and above, although it could be used with a better youth band. A real audience pleaser!
