Concert Overture for Brass BandIn the year 1340 in the town of Ghent, a son was born to Edward III King of England and his Queen Phillipa. The boy, afterwards known as John O'Gaunt (Ghent) grew up to be a warrior and before he was 20 he was fighting in France beside his brother, the Black Prince. For many years he was occupied with the wars in France and Spain and was seldom in England. His first two marriages brought him great riches and position, but the love of his life was Catherine Swynford, who bore him four children. Whilst he was away , his Palace of Savoy was burnt to the ground by the mob during the Peasant's Revolt. Finally in 1394 he returned home and married Catherine, for whom he felt a strong affection since her first marriage in St. Clement Danes Church in the Strand, many years before. No. 1215 March - Merthyr Tydfil No.34 (Paul Sharman)This march was written at the request of Bandmaster Howard Roberts to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Merthyr Tydfil Corps, corps number 34 in The Salvation Army. The tunes used have obvious Welsh connections wit 'Cwm Rhonnda' and 'Aberystwyth' being featured. 'Aberystwyth' was written by Joseph Parry who lived in Merthyr Tydfil for a while.No. 1216 Mambo - Mighty God (Steven Ponsford)Based on words from Isaiah 9, 'Mighty God' is a song of worship and assurance by Chris Bowater and helen and Mark Johnson. This arrangement will afford bands the opportunity to engage the audience into a lively segment of praise.No. 1217 Song Setting - Jesus, I come (Michael Davis)A setting of George C Stebbins' beautiful melody 'Out of my bondage'.No. 1218 O rock, all ye faithful (William Gordon)The Christmas carol 'O come, all ye faithful' is arranged here in a 'rock' style and includes references to other well known Christmas carols.

LORD OF THE SEA (Brass Band Set) - Ray Steadman-Allen
Each movement of this suite is linked with a quotation from the Bible; 1. Water's edge ('And Jesus went forth...by the sea-side...' Mark 2 v.13). 2. Seascapes ('His dominion shall be from sea to sea' Zechariah 9 v.10). 3. Seafarer's song ('Sing unto the Lord...ye that go down to the sea' Isaiah 42 v.10). The first two movements are based on the composer's own settings of poems by Miriam Richards. The third movement (generally lively in characater) introduces a broad hymn-like melody not associated with any words in particular but nevertheless evoking a spirit of exaltation and praise.

£59.99Winter Wonderland - Dick Smith - Philip Sparke
This enduringly popular seasonal song has long been a Christmas favourite, even though the lyrics don't mention 'Christmas' at all. The words were by Dick Smith (1901-1935) and the music by Felix Bernard (1897-1944). The inspiration was reportedly a visit by Smith to Honesdale's (his hometown) Central Park when it was covered in snow.The first recording was made by Richard Himber's Ritz-Carlton Orchestra in 1934. The same year Guy Lombardo and his band, The Royal Canadians, took the song to number 2 in the US Billboard Chart, where it stayed for 9 weeks. It has since been recorded by over 150 artists, the most successful versionsbeing by Perry Como and the Andrews Sisters, both released in 1946.

Two boys from Felanitx: Pere Obrador and Miquel Angel Cerda. Having finished school, one stayed in Mallorca, while the other one left to study in Madrid. Some years later, homesickness and a yearning for the sea brought Miquel back. The turning point in their lives came in 1994. They realised their dream and produced their first wine. £104.99Friendly Takeover (Brass Band - Score and Parts) - Waespi, Oliver
Friendly Takeover was composed for the 2016 Swiss Wind Band Convention in Montreux. In this three movement piece the composer experiments with lyrical motives combined with rhythmical pulses in different meters throughout the piece. In the finale, the musical scene is taken over completely by groove-based rhythms. This takeover, however, is of a friendly nature, as the various beats are not being conceived as rivals of the lyrical motives, but are rather supposed to infuse energy and vitality to the latter. Thus, one gets the impression of an ongoing acceleration throughout the piece. Duration: 9.30
