Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg (1843-1907) wrote a lot of songs, several of which Jacob de Haan has arranged for ensemble of variable strength. The songs are: Fremad! Fremad!, Stille Nu! and Fola, Fola, Blakken. It has been arranged for beginner bands and can be played with a minimum of four players (+ percussion).

In this stunning work French composer Christian Bouthier has created a nostalgic French chanson, a form of song popularised by the ambassador of French song Charles Aznavour. The piece is characterised by a peaceful, moving melody filled with meditative sounds that encourage a blissful dreaminess.

Notturno - Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy - Willy Hautvast

This part from Mendelssohn's 'Midsummer Night's Dream' is a nice piece full of atmosphere allowing a wind band to excel. Above all, the French horn section comes to the fore. The work is well suited for different occasions both solemn and festive. This is one of the first arrangements for wind band written by Willy Hautvast.
