Brass Band set including full score. The Post Horn part is provided in Ab, however a Bb trumpet part is also included in the set for greater flexiblity. In 1844, the German cornet player Hermann Koenig wrote Post Horn Gallop for Post Horn with orchestra accompaniment. Its great popularity meant that it has made its way into the brass and wind band repertoires. Ed Keeley has given it a festive twist by including motifs of Jingle Bells, Good King Wenceslas and Here We Come A-Wassailing.

The Horn of Plenty - Marc Cunningham
The Horn of Plenty is a composition which allows to present the Horn in many styles. The opening has an heroic character and exudes an Spanish atmosphere. The next part is a playful and lighthearted Leggiero. The melody used in bar 38 has an oriental sound through melodic use of the harmonic scale. The Andante is a parody on a piano etude by the composer Stephen Heller, a Frenchman of Hungarian descent. The piece ends with a relaxed swing area in which the Horn also in a different way can be heard.

Meditation is the central theme from The Triumph of Time, a work commissioned for The Black Dyke Band by Music Director Nicholas Childs. The original brief was for a piece which would showcase the talents of the band's many fine soloists, among them Zoe Hancock on Flugel horn and Baritone soloist Katrina Marzella. This extract brings both instruments together in an extended stand-alone arrangement.Although scored for Flugel and Baritone, a number of options can be explored at the discretion of the conductor (eg. This famous aria is from the opera Gianni Schicchi. Lauretta, daughter of Gianni Schicchi, has fallen in love with Rinuccio but there are huge tensions between their two families which threaten to keep the young couple apart. The rather discordant music which opens portrays these tensions before giving way to Lauretta's tender appeal to her father to allow her to marry the man she loves. A brass band arrangement of this aria was prepared at the request of Brett Baker to be performed with Brass Band Of The Western Reserve, musical director Dr Keith M Wilkinson, during his visit in May, 2011.
