Streamline Peaks was commissioned and composed to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Glassworks Brass Band St-Prex. As the Glassworks Band are based in Switzerland, I used two iconic Swiss elements for my inspiration; the famous Swiss landscapes and their famous Rail system.

Sine Metu - Andrew Duncan

Fanfare for an Occasion was written to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the founding of Anglo Music Press, the publishing company dedicated to the works of British composer, Philip Sparke. It is a bright and festive work in which the main theme starts on the tenor instruments of the band before appearing as canonical imitation by all sections in turn. A short, repeated bridge passage leads to a second theme on the horns that is taken up by the full band and leads back to a return of the main theme and a repeat of the second subject, which brings the fanfare to a brilliant close.

Into Your Eyes was commissioned by the Nielse ConcertBand (Belgium) to celebrate its tenth anniversary. The band was formed through the fusion of two existing music societies by the late Michel Versavel, who was the combined ensemble's first conductor. Tochter Zion, also known as See the Conquering Hero Comes, is the most famous chorus from the oratorio Judas Maccabaeus (1746) by the composer George Frideric Handel (1685-1759). The heroic epic based on the Biblical story about commander-in-chief Judas Maccabaeus, was used by Handel to celebrate the English victory over the rebellious Scottish. The first performance of this patriotic work - written in the pleasing, rich baroque style that Handel's music is known for - was conducted by himself; the success was huge. The chorus See the Conquering Hero Comes was added later, in 1748, drawn from another oratorio (Joshua).
