This is an ancient Welsh air that was first published in in 1794. Dafydd (David) Owain was a famous Welsh bard who lived on a farm called Gareg Wen (The White Rock) in Eifionydd, Carnarnvonshire, North Wales. Tradition has it that on his deathbed he called for his harp and composed this lovely melody, requesting that it be played at his funeral. Accordingly, it was later played at the parish church of Ynys-Cynhaiarn. Lyrics were later added by Ceiriog Hughes, which describe the melody's inspiration. This version for brass band retains all the beauty and simplicity of the original.

The title of this work has been taken from an account, known as , by Julius Caesar, which tells of the conquest of Gaul (58 BC-50 BC). The original report, which is of major historical value today, consisted of 7 parchment manuscripts. Bart Picqueur, inspired by these manuscripts, describes a major battle between the Belgic Nervii tribe and the Romans, seen from the Nervii point of view which throws new light on events. The work is made up of several parts giving a musical description of each scene. The message at the end of the piece expresses the futility of a war in which everyone is a loser. This spectacular composition contains countless impressive effects and is suitable for concerts or competitions.

"Dear Frog" describes the story of a prince who changes into a frog and then waits for a princess to kiss him so that he can turn back into a prince again. A musical satire for the trombone and orchestra. What is remarkable about this work is the use of the "wah-wah sourdine" throughout the entire piece, which gives it an extra amusing flavour.

The music was composed by the prize winning composer Hans Zimmer. The piece December 7th is a dramatic work which accompanies the high point of the film and Klaus van der Woude?s arrangement looses none of the excitement of the original.

Dies Infernus means 'Day of Hell'. The reason for this title is the dreadful disaster that befell the Dutch village of Kolhorn in 1788, when the whole village went up in flames. Afterwards, a huge appeal was launched to rebuild the unfortunate village. Many people were willing to contribute, resulting in the collection of the enormous sum at the time of eighteen thousand guilders, with which the village could be rebuilt. This work was commissioned by Harmonie De Eendracht in Kolhorn to mark its 110th Anniversary.
