Rockarab is devoted to 'the ship of the desert', the camel. Little Chi Yan is a very charming, romantic song for a sweet little girl. This stately concert march leads us to the old England with its legendary castles and the beautiful and impressive landscapes where many knights have died. The work Prevision has been composed in a free fantasy form. Deep in thought the composer sketches his prevision - the development of his small grandson growing up to be an adult. After a brilliant introduction, a slow march follows, which symbolises the first steps toward adulthood. Aspects such as love and a sense of security, that are indispensable for a positive development, are presented in a calm middle section, after which an energetic closing part refers to the rebelliousness of an adolescent. The grand finale of Prevision expresses the grandfather's and composer's positive picture of the future. 10:30

Originally part of the score Walton wrote for the film The First of the Few, this fabulous music found greater fame in the concert version he made in 1942. Now, at last, here is an authorised version for brass band by an acknowledged master of the art, Elgar Howarth. The Prelude - essentially a march in his best Crown Imperial style leads to a dazzling Fugue which incorporates a quiet interlude before the dramatic finale. Studio-Pop (Brass Band - Score and Parts)
Studio-Pop consists of five movements. The first movement, entitled Marching on a String, is an energetic rock march in a modern rhythm. Next, the charming Dreaming of Summer has been composed in three-four time - which is quite unusual in modern pop music. The inspiration for the third movement, Chicken-Charley was a youngman selling chicken legs from a stall. His supple, dancing movements can be recognised in the music. The fourth movement, Candlelight is a modern, attractive ballad. Finally, Discoteca takes us along on a night visit to a Spanish discotheque. The typically Spanish chords and the stirring, high-spirited rhythm provide an exuberant closing to Studio-Pop. 05:10

The overture to Rossini's opera?William Tell?is a fairly large scale work in four sections and lasting some twelve minutes. However, it is the finale of the overture which is one of ?the most iconic pieces of music. This 'March of the Swiss Soldiers' is a dynamic cavalry charge and galop often used in popular media to denote galloping horses, a race, or a hero riding to the rescue. Its most famous use in that respect is as the theme music for the radio and TV show?The Lone Ranger. It was also used to great comic effect by Spike Jones and his City Slickers and it also finds it's way into the first movement of Shostakovich's 15th Symphony! Duration: 3:20

£30.00Icebreaker - Tom Harrold
Icebreaker was originally scored for brass dectet and percussion and was completed in March 2012. The work begins with tumultuous fanfare written for the four trumpets, shrouded by thick chords in the lower brass. This fanfare-like material leads to a biting statement from the trombones. An 'icy' gritty section, once again played by the trombones grows in energy, punctuated by the return of the trumpets' fanfares. The horn, providing a little respite, emerges in a quiet restrained solo line, which is coloured by the rest of the ensemble. Before fully coming to fruition, the horn is quickly cut-short and subsumed by the sudden return of the energetic material from the instruments, which grows to the end of the piece.

Codebreakers : Bletchley Park - Len Jenkins - Len Jenkins
Bletchley Park was the centre for Allied codebreaking in World War 2, responsible for decoding secret military codes used by enemy forces, in particular those related to the use of the 'Enigma' and other encoding machines. In the course of its endeavours it developed what was effectively the first electronic computer and brought to prominence the genius of Alan Turing when its wartime work was declassified and made public. The composer, Len Jenkins, still lives near Bletchley Park, went to school nearby, and attended training courses there when, after the war, it was used as a telecommunications training centre. This march is dedicated to the memory of all those who worked at Bletchley Park.
