Farondole - Bizet - Alan Beaumont
This famous movement from Bizet's highly popular suite has long been a favorite with brass bands and their audiences alike. This new arrangement now includes better percussion parts (including timpani) and some lovely grace notes for Baritone and Repiano. The Cornet section is also arranged unusually as it is written for 3 players to play the Repiano part and 2 players to play the Solo Cornet line. A wonderful effect.

£29.50Bewitched - Howard Greenfield - Gavin Somerset
In 1964, the pilot to the new American sitcom 'Bewitched' was completed. The original screening used Frank Sinatra's 'Witchcraft' as the music for the opening titles, however, the production company did not want to pay the large fee to use this track and so, Greenfield & Keller were asked to compose an alternative. The foot-tapping swing piece they produced was reduced to an instrumental version with a light orchestra for the opening credits. However, the song has now been recorded several times. The most famous recording by Steve Lawrence was also featured in the film 'Bewitched' released in 2005. Since then, it has also appeared on the X-Factor a number of times. This fantastic swing item now comes arranged for brass band with the option of playing it at the Steve Lawrence song tempo, or the fast, big band instrumental tempo used in the TV Series. An optional, lower pitched part is also included between letters E-F for the cornet section & flugel to make the item more accessible to lower section bands. This item is a great swing number that audiences of all ages will recognize, a great piece for your new program & a must for every band looking to inject some life into their concerts.

From the fourth installation of the Harry Potter series comes 'Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire'. This was the first of the Harry Potter films not to be scored by John Williams. Instead, Scottish Composer, Patrick Doyle was handed the gauntlet and he produced a gem of a score that lived up to the magic on screen. Although darker than the previous three films, the light-hearted 'Hogwart's March' featured predominantly at the Triwizard tournament. Now available for band, this work is perfect for band's looking to add a little magic to their programme. This light-hearted soprano cornet feature offers a fresh and entertaining take on the well-known Christmas carol We Wish You a Merry Christmas. Thought to date back to 16th-century England, the carol reflects a tradition of festive singing outside the homes of the well-to-do - often accompanied by requests for treats such as figgy pudding, a forerunner of today's Christmas pudding. Kenneth Downie's arrangement embraces the jovial spirit of the original, pairing nimble soprano cornet writing with bright, colourful scoring for brass band. The famous refrain, 'And we won't go until we've got some', sets the tone: cheerful, a touch cheeky, and full of seasonal good humour. Born during the isolation of the COVID-19 pandemic, Pageant by Australian composer Barrie Gott transforms the simple interval of a fourth into an engaging, multi-faceted set of variations. Written specifically with 4th Section bands in mind, this work delivers rich textural contrast, clear educational rewards, and a crowd-pleasing arc that moves from regal tradition to high-energy rock. The piece opens with a majestic herald, setting a ceremonial tone as a warm, mellow melody dialogues with bright, fanfare-like brass. From there, the music moves through three distinct stylistic worlds: a delicate, nimble variation inspired by the craft of Eric Ball's A Little Suite for Band; a smooth, lyrical ballad featuring the solo cornet and flugel horn; and a high-energy finale grounded in a driving 6/8 rock groove, bringing the work to a dramatic, cinematic finish. Enduring Faith was commissioned by Christopher Ward and the Five Lakes Silver Band and is a lyrical work for brass band that explores the intersection of hope, resilience, and conviction. Designed with a focus on melodic clarity and expressive phrasing, the composition moves through a series of nuanced emotional shifts - ranging from quiet, reflective passages to moments of expansive lyricism and affirmation. The harmonic structure travels through several keys, serving as a musical metaphor for the changing seasons of life. Throughout the piece, the texture is enriched by featured soloists from across the ensemble, including flugel horn, cornet, euphonium, baritone, and trombone. This work is dedicated to Doug and Stephanie Bayne, long-standing members of the Five Lakes Silver Band, in recognition of their commitment to their community and their steadfast support of the ensemble.
